AMERICA AS A GAMBLING SOCIETY 2018

It is quite clear Americans delight in rolling the dice. I did in 1979-1980. My 5 or 6 years in my weekly junket to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos  with my sidekick JOHNSON are like being the Count of Monte Cristo. This one Teenage Book Club in 1956 inspired my young life about adventure.

Money is illusive. Today's money has wings in the name of being plastic. A cashless society is here. Everything and everybody lets you SWIPE and the new chip is ubiquitous in your pocket!

The doomed HUNT BROTHERS helped bring affluence to the Bob Potvin family. Many plain folks found their moment in the sun when interest rates hit 18%. The poor got richer and I made a buck! Worcester County was my oyster. As the middle-man I paid upwards of $24 for one Silver Dollar. I was turning Twenty Thousand a day. DelGreco the smelter in Quincy saw me and my driver Jack Swedis do 4 trips a week delivering coinage.

Antique dealers and coin dealers ran out of funds. Not me.Why? Because I "moved it." Greed inhibits selling! Take your profit and run! I became 'FOREVER IN BLUE JEANS" A Neil Diamond favorite.

I'm smart, I dealt with many buyers from Boston To Williamstown (Sandy's) to Harold & Jan Krintzman at Old Town in Newington. My confidence level soared as my driver took my silver Delta Olds to the Big Apple: BRIGANDI COIN.I loved the adventure!  LOL and earning $1,000 a day.

January was a "once in a lifetime" thrill. In February my boys "FLEW FREE" from Logan Airport to Lambert Field in Saint Louis, MO! I went armed with my attache case loaded with numismatic properties. I sold $7.000 of coins at the Mid-America Coin Show and treated Father Bosken to a good time. His coin-collecting habits were non-pareil.

1980 revealed another aspect of my loves being a HIGH ROLLER of sorts.
Auction School followed. I was on my way. J. Irving England "read my palm" as a mentor of mine.

Throughout the Eighties the West Brookfield Potvin sybarites of sorts. My proud parents were wonderful in seeing me "Fly like a Double Eagle!"

An entrepreneur must think "It's only MONEY" and shed POVERTY MENTALITY ATTITUDES and keep THE FEAR OF THE LORD WITHIN YOU. Having a keen sense of justice is a definite imperative.I'M HIP AS I "SWIM WITH TH SHARKS!"..LOL.
