I THOUGHT IT WAS A RAT.. INSTEAD A DEAD MOUSE!

I was listening to my refined music in my breezeway and the longer I sat in my easy chair the more noisome things got. I smelled something not fit for a king. But where did the foul odor come from..  I don't know where it came from?

My sense of smell is good, especially for money. And now the search was on. A carcass was waiting to be had. And then BINGO "Mickey Mouse at my doorstep!" I then went to my silverware and found some hot dog forceps and deaccessioned the stinky little thing. Gone!

The Eagles book has landed in Belmont, NC. SonBen sent a telegraph at 5:00 PM. Now, if Savannah can learn "Lyin' Eyes" she can be a little Rock Star.

Visited Toody Quigley and Matt Benvenui at the Quaboag Nursing home. Both of my friends are in their nineties believe it or not.

Get ready for July and

some greenbacks.

MY SCREWED-UP WEDNESDAY

Short and sweet, the firewood on the Town Common was a decoy. While there was a concert, I am days away from the annual bonfire. The power of suggestion  prevailed over reality. DA. I went to the car show at Klem's and visited with James Kordek and crew. My visit was fine as my visit on the Town Common, West Brookfield.

Visiting family and friends says it all. See you later alligator!

GO FOR THE GOLD!

What better time to sell your unwanted gold.. just in time for the Fourth  of July. In reality it's a "no brainer." The big ticket items in your jewelry boxes are Class Rings from high school and college. These babies are truly worth their weight in gold. In most cases one hundred dollars or more some less.

The trick is to look inside the ring to make sure they are marked  10k, 14k or 18k. Remember, pure gold is 24k. Current prices are at $1,314  an ounce for gold and $17.78 oz for silver. Silver coins must be 1964 or older. Kennedy @ 90% silver. only the first date of issue.

Your jewelry box can be Aladdin's Cave. I treat everyone the same. It will depend on how much gold and silver you have to determine redemption figures. My Gold Wanted" sign is out with new luster.  It's a you win ...I win.."no strings attached policy. Gold watches are good, too.

Absolutely nobody knows how long this bubble will last. Why not get on the gold wagon? GOT GOLD?

NAME CALLING 101

To think the presidential wannabes have advanced degrees and are acting like fourth graders from the platform is beyond me. Can you imagine a President calling and ambassador a jerk? As far as I'm concerned thee whole charade is turning me off.

The July Conventions will leave nothing to the imaginations. Forget it!

Saw my older sister's picture in the paper holding 2 dolls. Back to the forties it is.

Bruce Springsteen has been entertaining me in my studio tonight. As much as I love The Eagles, The Boss is the Boss...My Home Town.

Final ultrasound treatment today at the VA in Worcester. Sent the Eagles book to Ben and it erroneously was sent to 28017 not 28012! Transposition of the wrong zipper can happen. Gotta correct it first thing.

Hotter and more muggy.

HOTEL CALIFORNIA by The Eagles

If you enjoy pop music, Hotel California tops the list for the incredible Eagles, both past and present.

The Eagles have been flying since the early seventies and I have been a fan of their music from the beginning. My boys were born to the tunes of Glen Frey, Don Henley,  Joe Walsh and others. NowRolling Stone has  a special tribute on the news stands until August 4, 2016. Check it out. I rate the Eagle's music #1

This retrospective book is a class production of writings, memoirs and vintage photographs. I pride fully send a copy to my eagle of music, Benjamin.

Today I drove to Westford to a major coin show. Beaucoup dealers. The only person I knew was Richard B. Johnson. If you are interested in coins I tell you the opening bid in London is UP from Friday's close $1,313...now it's it is at $1,330! Silver is up to$17.81 an ounce.

SELL!

LIVE FROM TANGLEWOOD

What better way on the last Saturday  in June than to tune into Garrison Keillor on Public Radio live from Tanglewood in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts. The next step is to fire up the old Grand AM and spin around New Braintree. What a delight. Farmers are making hay and I love it.

Tonight is idyllic. Any hot air balloons in sight? The Eagles song Peaceful, Easy Feeling says it all. The Eagles memorial book is being sent to Son Ben.. one of the biggest fans in the world.

Somehow my day is almost coming to an end...tomorrow it'll be to a coin show. I like mixing up my life with adventure. (short version.)

DODGE POWER WAGON

I have been involved with no less than three Dodge Power Wagons in my life. First, In the U.S. Army in Vietnam I "borrowed" a truck from the motor pool, second, as a National Park Ranger in the summer of 1964 patrolling the dunes of Provincetown and North Truro and in 1987 with son Josh down at Doc Bills.

Today a Power Wagon owned by Tom Selig was auctioned off for a
mere $110,000. What, are you crazy? One could get 3 new BMWs for that bid. Insane.Fire departments, in particular, like these machines as they "climb every mountain."

I don't know what I would buy if I had money. Maybe a motor scooter. At any rate, Barrett-Jackson is at Mohegan Sun today with my student Steve Magnante leading the pack of intelligent auto announcers.

The wild world of car lovers and trucks  continues. Start your engines, guys!

HOW TO GET 10 HOURS OF SLEEP A NIGHT

Sleep is a mystery if you ask me. Some folks have no problems sleeping while others suffer from abject insomnia. Since birth, a good night sleep has been my nemesis. Sleeping pills came my was while in Vietnam. Using illicit sleep aids were my shtick. My buddies at the pharmacy took care of me.

I have been dependent on sleep aids all of my life into old age.. so what. I once said to my doctor, Geoffrey Oxnard.. "I am entitled to a good night's sleep." He agreed. When we get proper rest we feel better. Our tired body regenerates.

There's different stroked for different folks. Some people drink their way to sleep. Others toss and turn. I have found getting a good night's sleep is cognitive. Sleep aids are OK! New otc sleep drugs are coming on the market all of the time.

White noise like a fan in the background can help as can Easy Listening music. Some folks were blinders from the

early morning light. I take a slew of drugs every day AND most nights they work. Relax! Throw away your TV. Forget the news. Most of all don't take tomorrow to bed with you! Just sleep!

PAGEVIEWS 14,897

Blogging can be fun, especially when you hit. From the outhouse to the White House blogging can bring out the best in you. I post my pageviews as they are real at 14,897. This cumulative count tells me I am doing something right. And do know what my secret is? I just keep writing. Certainly encouragement is the best medicine. But you must remember I flunked typing IN 1958.LOL.

I thing blogging can be about your attitude. If you are a perfectionist you can be paralyzed. I don't get hung-up in much of life and living...live and let live!

My Straight A Grandkids were rewarded with monetary gifts from Pops. Madeline Grace is a true Rock-Star in the making. Lily-Belle as I call her is a true intellectual... and they are so young. "Baby-Jr" Evelyn isn't quite 3 and starts Miss Shelly's Montessori Apple in the Fall. My sons work hard at all of life and it shows. Down South we have Son Ben, Allison and Savannah Hope who is 2.

My advice to my kids is "stay good."

Son Josh gave me a haircut tonight for free. Once a month I get clipped. Old men shouldn't be vain unless your name is Liberace.

Gotta work on my U.S. Army Memoirs tomorrow. I had 20 booklets printed. Now it's about lining up some photos. enjoy Saturday all over your body!

WHAT TO DO WITH YOUR MONEY?

What to do with your money is an age old question? This wild economy of 2016 and the quest of big business pits us against the wall in some cases. Imports from China have zonked us. I try to look at everything I buy. In second place is Vietnam. Clothing from USA seems to be rare. Are we suckers? Are we over-consumed?

I have attempted to turn a new page of courage AS Ralph Waldo Emerson once wrote. We just don't need it, friends. Give it up.Watch out for the price of gasoline to soar. Is the party over? New vehicles are here, there and everywhere. Things go in cycles. How many folks are saving for a rainy day? Many folks just don't get it...

Saving money is not easy, especially when you are sinking in debt! We must grab the bull by the horns with SELF DISCIPLINE. Saving is near impossible with some people. There are two kinds of people in the world: savers and spenders.  What are you? I'm both.

BOB POTVIN'S GOLD BLOG

Now can be the best time in a couple of years to sell your unwanted gold! And be careful as absolutely anything can happen over the weekend. Europe and the world are dangerously hot weather wise and otherwise. I have been dealing in this stuff for 50 years. Redeeming unwanted gold is "found money" as one banker said to me 4 years ago.

Speculating can be dangerous. I heard from gold dealers earlier in the year of losing their shirts. Also, greed inhibits selling. I say "take your profits and run." Today I had a client redeem a tidy amount for cash.

Gold is a security and you can hide it in your mattress or have gold crowns  16k.Most coins are 21.6k and jewelry is usually 10k or 14k. Hitler hoarded much gold and Trump is reputed in having gold. Me? "I'm tired and old and don't have much gold" but I do have good looks. LOL.

Notice my yellow flag DON'T TREAD ON ME. It is a sign of the times. Gold bullion can be illusive. Me? I love Twenty Dollar gold pieces or 'Pieces of Eight. With gold you can have your cake and eat it. Watch the market$1,316 as I write ..up $ 49.30. an ounce.

Any questions?

A PAY-ALL-MY-BILLS THURSDAY

Ya, right, in one hand and out the other. TJX, CAPITOL-ONE, BOX RENT, CHARTER, NATIONAL GRID, RENT.. did I miss anyone? Such a wonderful June day thwarted by the monthly reality of bills for Old Bob.

The day started with the Konalrad burst from my night sleeping pill, Easy Listening music on Charter. The weird disrupted my REM coupled with the false things in my life.. dentures. If it sounds like I'm bitching I am. Fortunately I found myself in my writings and editing.

'JOHNSON'

MONEY, OLD MONEY

C'EST MOI

LOL

RICH AND FAMOUS

WHAT AM I BID?

Attorney Bill Gross wired me from Vancouver relating to Hamilton Gregory's high praise of my . I intend to go to Staples tomorrow and price out a run of my works. I am encouraged by the praiseworthy comments of Hamilton and Bill. What's a guy supposed to do nearing age 74? go swimming?

Well, actually Son Josh, wife Heidi and kids will probably have their swimming pool ready for the weekend. I brought my "STARS AND STRIPES" trousers to Ware for shortening. Will be ready for July 1st and boy, are they spiffy, Nancy! Right on for the Fourth of July.

I hope Johnson comes with a wheelbarrow on Saturday. "No matter if you are rich or poor it's nice to have money"...once spouted Milton Berle. I'm not broke...I'm badly bent. Hey buddy can you spare beaucoup d'argent?
" Money, money, money" sings ABBA.

Pageview counts seem to be a joke.7 for the 24 hours..LOL.

A NEW TWIST TO LIFE AND LIVING - GEOCACHING!

My handle is Potfrog and boy am I having fun! Ch

hse Robert And J. Byron introduced me to this about three weeks ago -Geocaching and my momentum is growing exponentially. All you need is a SmartPhone and smart kids. In my case I have both.

If you are curious you are "in." Been to Devil's Elbow Road lately? I have. How about the Orchard where a treasure was found. This is the real deal ladies and gentlemen. You just can't miss. Use your imagination.. get away from it all and you are in.

At 74,almost,  I am excited. Like Victor Kiam once said.. "I even bought the company!' Well, I bought my first electronic book The Joy of Geocaching by Paul and Dana Gillin. I even printed out a 21 page about the topic on Wikipedia. I don't fool around with life... regardless.

As a geochaser you are a true treasure hunter personified. Again, I love it. People waste so much time watching television. Not Bob. I will continue to go at life with abandon right up to the end in the year 2525.

So this is my story on a wonderful Wednesday with a tumultuous cloud burst as Chipper Leslie was laid to rest. I wish his son well.

And a shoutout to my Edison friend with a haircut. LOL
