A SPECTACULAR SATURDAY MORNING

Blood glucose 81

For the moment the beauty of the snow-laden trees can't be explained. The temperature at daybreak was 13 degrees.  It seemed like a January morning. My driveway is 50/50 and passable. I feel getting my snow tires mounted will be the smart thing to do as my driveway is on an incline.

Johnson will be coming shortly. His truck is good for all weather conditions.

Don't know where we'll go to?

Trump/Biden folks are out at the Town Common. The West Brookfield police are in attendance today.

CHRISTMAS IN OCTOBER

The snowfall was much more than expected! Six inches or more and cold weather to follow.

Tonight Chase, Josh and I were dressed for the occasion. Little Evie was the star all dressed like a petit snowgirl. Evie is a  little girl for all occasion. She plays in the snow while daddy is building "the biggest fire of the year!" Josh cooked some salty hot dogs on the campfire. I sat there in my Vietnam flight jacket.

A new assignment for your blogger is to memorize the countries of South America. I figure this activity will create a larger understanding of the World. Eventually I hope to understand the locations of all world countries.

Today was without a nap. The new Recliner isn't for me. My schedule will change with Standard time returning!

Enjoy the Full Moon!

THREE INCHES OF SNOW!

 Blood glucose 89 Weight 171.2lbs

I awoke at dawn to see it snowing! It was a fine snow with a couple of inches of snow on the ground. I just drove to Spencer and the roads were greasy. It was dangerous driving to say the least. Snowplows were doing their thing. I was caught without snow tires which are in my garage. Nice!

It seems the snow changes the mood. It looks more like Christmas.

Have been having trouble with my PC. I think I have it resolved. It was blocked out along with having trouble logging onto my E-Mail. With perseverance I have prevailed. Let's hope things are fixed.I think they are to the tune of $200!

No bonfire yesterday but a chance to visit Chase and Josh. Josh fixed my armrest by replacing the toupe'.

Watched Trump from Florida in the afternoon. Is he running scared? Biden's approach is much different!

It will be sunshine and cold for tomorrow!

ANOTHER TRYING DAY

Blood glucose 113

As raw and cold as the day was we enjoyed a campfire that warmed our hearts. Heidi, Chase and Maddie joined us chatting all about soccer and other good stuff. It got dark and I left before the 6:15 siren.

I received a new-used recliner from Ronnie's neighbor. It's like pair of shoes..it must be broken in!

Trump is in Arizona and is promising the world if re-elected!

Weather  is bad thru Friday!

AN AWFUL TUESDAY

Blood glucose 108

We are stuck in a weather pattern that tries men's souls! Cloudy, dreary boring where the only thing to do is watch the president. Trump was in Michigan in the rain wearing black leather gloves. His message is the same and we must endure it for another week.

No campfire on Birch Hill. Cold and raw, Josh built a fire in his fireplace . Chase had basketball practice at the WBES. We chatted and laughed over his self-imposed haircut!

The good news is tomorrow is payday. It comes late this month. Halaleuiah!

A GOOD MONDAY DESPITE THE GLOOMY WEATHER

The day was filled with the usual details of laundry and food shopping. Trump was in PA and had much of the afternoon taken with his repetitive BS.  Josh called advising me of Chase's soccer game at Quaboag.

Chase played much of the game but didn't score a goal. They beat Bay Path 4-1.

Tonight  I got a haircut then came home to watch the Senate hearing and the vote on Amy Coney Barrett. Amy was confirmed  52-48! The media will cover this BIG TIME in tomorrow's newspapers. I favored the vote..

TRUMP RALLY IN WARE

Blood glucose 108

It was a later getting up. I listened to WBZ news for a while in lieu of any music from WJMJ. The morning was really cold at 32 degrees. No frost.

The Patriot's defeat was brutal.  Not the same without Tom Brady!

Visited Josh after watching Trump in New Hampshire. Went to Lowe's in Ware driving by an impressive Tump on West Street. Several hundred flag and banners waving in the sunny skies. Josh blared his car's horn to meet with  approval. I waved.

Watched Leslie Stahl grill the Donald on 60 Minutes. Well done Leslie!!

A GOOD SATURDAY IN THE FINAL ANALYSIS

Johnson came and we headed "Northwest" beyond Amherst. The day was dismal the entire trip. Upon return I watched Steve Magnante with Barrett-Jackson car auction. It seems the rich enjoy spending six-figures like nothing!

Joe Biden gave a good speech in PA and Trump followed (yawn.) Chase called at 5:20 looking for me. I had gone by earlier for a haircut as Josh was asleep.

The return trip was ideal as the Northwest winds cleared the sky. The campfire was ideal as all four grandchildren played in the leaves. I left about 6:30 for more car auction entertainment. My Saturday was fulfilling.

A SUMMER'S DAY IN LATE OCTOBER

It was a summer's delight this Thursday! Temperatures climbed into the seventies and low eighties by noon. I made another trip to Hannaford, NB as I ran out of Ensure Plus a 350 calorie nutritional shake. I have found this shake gives me 75% more protein and seems to stabilize my weight around 170lbs.

I went to the Senior Center and obtained a box of food. I passed it on to a needed friend.

Lily Potvin had a field hockey game which  I watched for a while. Josh came by then went for a run. Quaboag won 10-0 .

Seven year old Evie lost a front tooth. I gave her $5.00. The kids had fun in the dry leaves as Josh & I chatted around the campfire.

A WARM, CLOUDY WEDNESDAY

Blood glucose 89

This particular Wednesday was uneventful. It was warmer than usual for late October. I did my shopping at Hannaford, NB. Fixodent and Trash bags. Saw Gary Lapine, Veteran's Agent while there and he advised me of food from Fort Devens tomorrow at the WB Senior Center. Will check things out. Seems there's food available from different sources.

After an afternoon of boring TV I had a nice visit with Josh and Chase around the small firepit. We chatted about the cavalcade of big trucks at Varnum Funeral Home. Josh told of an untimely death of a classmate of  his from Quaboag.

We had fun chatting about the virtues of Chase owning a Jeep someday. Chase turns 16 in a month. Jay Ostrout came by with dog as I was leaving. Dark at 6:15 .

Watched Trump from NC. Insulting Commander in Chief!

MY ALTERNATIVE TUESDAY

Josh had trouble starting a campfire tonight then succeeded in a blaze.
Chase's birthday book came in.

Seems the mood changes with the weather! Today was quiet.Gerry Christopher of WJMJ 88.9 FM Hartford told of a statue being dedicated today for singer, songwriter GENE PITNEY. I was onto this and enjoyed watching Pitney sing on YouTube! My all time favorite movie and song "THE MAN WHO SHSOT LIBERTY VALANCE" I watched many other songs Pitney sung. How many can you name?

I then began watching all about DIABETES. My diet  leaves a lot to behold. Must resolve to eat a healthier meal! My weight today was 171lbs.

Passing on watching the World Series & Trump!

MONDAY, MONDAY

Blood glucose 124

It was  a cold beginning. Thirty two degrees but no frost.

I went about doing laundry in Warren and was impressed by the town hall construction. They have a huge elevated tower repairing the woodwork 100 feet in the air. Should be beautiful when completed.

Took care of my pill cady. Took almost an hour. Ordered one out of supply.

Josh called asking me to take Chase and Lily to Quabaug forcer and field hockey games. Shepard Hill was the opponent. Chase scored one goal. The visitors won scoring five!

Dr. Fauci is on Trump's ship list. Poor guy.

HEAVY FROST THIS SUNDAY

This Sunday saw  a heavy frost all over my yard. The temperature was 26 degrees when I arose at 7:00AM. The day warmed up to 60 by afternoon and it became partly cloudy.

My day was quiet. I did go to Hannaford NB and spent thirty dollars. I watched Jane Pauley and enjoyed seeing Christopher Cross in a feature.

In the afternoon I caught part of the New England Patriot's loss.

Josh didn't return from his assignment until about 5:00 pm.

I caught part of NASCAR Lincoln.

Tonight President Trump was speaking from Carson, NV. It was the same old speech.  It was boring. I didn't see one black in the audience! More masks were visible.

Chase has a soccer game tomorrow at Quabaug.Laundry in the morning!

A SUBWAY SATURDAY

The day cleared early and cold weather prevailed. It seems the high temperature was about 50 degrees. my rain gauge had more than two inches of precipitation. It is safe to say the drought is over for now!

I called "Johnson" inviting him. He obliged and drove past the Trump Rally honking his truck's horn. The Biden showing was smaller this Saturday! We headed towards New Braintree and the famed Stetson Home in Barre. It was a comprehensive tour for sure!

We headed North again towards South Athol. It was a place we know well!

We returned to WB and ate at Subway.

The highlight of my day came in watching the Trump Rally in Michigan. The President was on his game. Speaking of games the Dodgers and Braves are tied at 3-3  forcing game 7 tomorrow. Go Braves!

A RAINY FRIDAY IN OCTOBER

The good news is my insulin needles arrived by mail! A box of 100 will last me 50 days.

After coming back from the dry cleaners I remained in the Poodle all day. Mecum Auto Auction caught my fancy and I watched the auction-action for hours. The one vehicle that caught my fancy was a Rolls Royce convertible that didn't reach the reserve.$400,000 wasn't enough. The car is beautiful.

Trump was on twice today. Once from  then from Georgia. The guy is so wrapped up in his own importance. He touts being greater than all presidents except Abraham Lincoln! Yea right!

No Josh tonight. He's on assignment!

Hopefully the skies will clear for Saturday!

MY OCTOBER THURSDAY

Blood glucose 109

The day began cold. The temperature was 32-33 degrees. Right off I discovered my ATM card was missing! I searched high and low turning my Poodle upside down. I just couldn't locate it. I went to the bank and withdrew $100 cash realizing "it just may show up." Nothing. I kept looking when in mid-afternoon I phoned HANNAFORD NB. Eureka! I had left it in the receptacle! DA.

Early on I ran into Vietnam Veteran and friend Dave Cameron. We chatted for the better part of a half hour . It seems we have so much in common including aches and pains.

The next part of my Thursday came in paying my respect to Mrs. Hazel Turner of Hardwick. Late husband and I were coin friends.

Next stop was at Birch Hill. Josh and Chase and I had a friendly chat about the virtues of Jeep Wranglers! Chase "wants one!"

No mail from the VA! I'm now out of needles!

A BEAUTIFUL WEDNESDAY

The skies cleared and we were dealt a beautiful hump day! Much of the day was spent watching the Senate hearing of Amy Comey Barrett. The young lady is brilliant as well as charming and seems to be practical. I wish her well!

Received my ballot for absentee voting. I like the idea of voting ahead of time. I am truly an Independent as I voted both ways. I mailed it back right away. received a call from Bill Gross in Vancouver, WA who advised it took the better part of 10 days for my "Memoir" to arrive. Sorry but I feel the U.S. mail is hurting. My insulin is overdue from the VA. I ran out today. Not good!

Had a nice campfire on Birch Hill with Heidi, Josh, Chase and Evie Rose. It's nice when family gets together.  We laugh and compare notes. Family is everything for me.

Tomorrow looks good then more rain for the weekend!

A RAINY OCTOBER TUESDAY

Blood glucose 109

My new rain gauge reveals two inches of rain by 4:00 pm. My grass is green and needs mowing.

The day was gloomy yet productive. I received bills in the mail to include my $80 license plate renewal amongst other bills. I paid all of them so I am set for now.

I watched some of the Senate Hearing on Judge Amy Comey Barrett. Then I watched YEARS OF LIGHTENING DAY OF DRUM . Haven't watch it in a while. JFK looks so good compared to you know who! Trump can be like the Titanic. His foot is constantly in his mouth.

All evening game shows were pre-empted by the Patriots. Pass.

Clearing for tomorrow and Thursday. I love sunshine!

A COLD CLOUDY LABORDAY MONDAY

Blood glucose 91

The temperature didn't hit fifty degrees for most of this holiday Monday. I went about my laundry regimen and after that I watched the Senate hearing on Judge Amy Comey Barrett. The judge is sweet and I wish her well in getting appointed.

Baseball filled part of the afternoon. I enjoyed seeing Tampa Bay  defeat Houston. Before that I enjoyed a different visit to Josh's. No camp fire but instead a tour of West Brookfield. I swear Josh knows every house in town!

Then there was Trump in Florida .I watched him for nearly an hour. Then I switched to Jeopardy! Couldn't take any more of Donald!

Monday was cold but good!

PEAK FOLIAGE TODAY

The morning was clear and warmer than recent days. As I was driving to North Brookfield to buy some food I came to realize the brilliant foliage in Wine Village was at its peak. The bright red leaves and yellow displays were a delight. This afternoon while riding towards New Braintree I had the same persuasion. Then as the day ended clouds came in.

Spoke with SonBen tonight and the weather in Belmont, NC wasn't bright at all. remnants of the  hurricane gave  them rain! We probably will see rain tomorrow?

No baseball for me today. Did watch NASCAR from Charlotte enjoying it .Caught the tail end of the Dallas football victory over the Giants.

Tomorrow is laundry day in Warren!

GOOD WEEKEND COMING UP

There will be a good demonstration on the West Brookfield Common tomorrow at 10:00 AM with the two sides vying for votes: Trump and Biden. The demonstration will be telling as Biden had more enthusiasts last Saturday. I think Trump radical one in his ambivalent ways.

Will call "Johnson" in the morning. Maybe Dick would be interested in ""Jeep hunting?"

I watched baseball but not that much. Yankees

Computer is still giving me problems!

JOE BIDEN'S PROMISE

"Joe Biden has vowed to be a president for all Americans, even those wjo do not support him. In previous elections, such a promise might have sounded trite or treachy. Today, the idea that the president should have the entire nation's interest at heart feels almost revolutionary.

Mr. Biden has vowed to "restore the soul of America." It is a painful reminder that the country is weaker, angrier, less hopeful and more divided than it was four years ago. With this promise, Mr. Biden is assuring the public that he recognizes the magnitude of what the next president is being called upon to do. Thankfully, he is well suited to the challenge _ perhaps particularly so.

In the midst of relenting chaos, Mr. Biden is offering an anxious, exhausted on something beyond policy or ideology. His campaign is rooted in steadiness, experience, compassion and decency."

A LATE WEDNESDAY ACTIVITY

Blood glucose 99

The highlight of my Wednesday came  a little after five. The clouds to the West look threatening so I drove the Honda into the garage. Suddenly intense winds came across Route 9 and with rain came heavy pea-sized hail. The ground was white. It reminded me of the tornadic winds of a month ago. Pete Bouchard reported the Worcester Airport clocked winds of 70 mph! I wonder how high Josh recorded on Birch Hill?

Earlier I received a call from a local friend asking what my political preference was! I was non committal although if you could read between the lines it is obvious. He wants to put a sign for Joe Biden on my lawn. I said I would sleep on it.. Then Josh called.

Because he owns the Poodle I probably will remain neutral for now. There seems to be more Biden lawn signs in the community!

I have no plans on watching the VP Debate tonight! Tomorrow's  suffice!

BLUE JEEP WRANGLER

The conversation at tonight's campfire is Chase's quest for a blue Jeep Wrangler when he turns 16 in November. Both Josh and I are on the lookout for a vehicle that meets his wishes. It is fun deliberating such fun. Any readers know where a good Wrangler is for sale? Boppot2002@yahoo.com or 508-867-3360!

The day was spent watching baseball. The Braves beat San Diego?.. No games for me tonight. Early to bed.

Spent tine watching a 1990 video of the Robinson Real Estate auction in Oakham. Good stuff. The house fetched $76,000. Both sons worked with dad. The contents brought peanuts.

Game shows tonight were good. I knew the answer of "Australia" in final jeopardy!

JOHNSON AT 77

Today is Richard B. Johnson 77 birthday. I called Dick inviting him to West Brookfield and suggesting we head northwest towards Athol and beyond into Franklin County. It was a beautiful ride. I did feel the foliage wasn't as bright as I anticipated. We did see a massive pumpkin patch where all pumpkins were left to die.

On the way back I suggested Johnson  take an option.. of a crisp $20 bill or lunch. Dick grabbed the 20 and said he was hungry so I treated him to a Subway meatball grinder in West Brookfield. Happy Birthday, Dick!

The Trump/ Biden flag wavers were out along the WB Town Common. We drove by the demonstration  tooting the horn for Trump! Dick enjoyed it.

Saw Josh briefly. He wanted  to road-test the Honda repairs. A-OK.

FULL MOON OVER PALMER

Last night I was in Palmer visiting a friend who is considering building an auction gallery. The complexities of this enterprise raises questions whether it is a good idea. Covid has turned the world upside down. And now the president is in Walter Reed Hospital.

Last night as I was leaving my friend's restaurant for some unknown reason I lost my balance and fell! I handed on my left elbow as folks came to me rescue lifting me up. Walking in my advancing years with a cane is dangerous especially in the dark.

Car repairs were formidable.$633.40 two new rear tires and brakes. The mechanic advises transmission transmission replacement looms in  the future.

WEDNESDAY DISCOVERY

Yesterday, I discovered my story as an auctioneer in a handwritten diary recounting my days from the get-go. I am now transcribing it into the title of "memoirs of a country auctioneer!" I am enthused with this project and will submit it to the marketplace for writers. I think the mere fact unique auctioneering makes it a winner! Wish me luck!

The skies cleared on Wednesday. My day was spent preparing for today, visit Blake Lamothe. We reviewing the possibilities of his opening an auction gallery. in Palmer
