MY RUBY TUESDAY

I was surprised to see a dusting of snow on the ground as I greeted my day. Most of the dusting was gone as the sun set. I have been watching the number of hits on my blog not knowing if I was posting on Facebook? As of this writing I have notched 19 which is good. Some days are higher than others. I bought a sheet of purple Heart postage stamps. I continue to print discovered articles and sent one to Ben & Josh. The game shows were good tonight. Tomorrow is February first.

A GREAT DAY A BUSY DAY MY MONDAY

My Monday was full of the get-go. I filled my pill cady with 10 days of pills along with ordering three days' supply. Josh came by to use my color printer and later required a ride to Sullivan Tire in Sturbridge. I shot over to North Brookfield to get my Honda washed for $10. As my red Allante' has a dead battery I will request a re-charge in the next day or two with warm weather.  I did a review of Allante' on YouTube. Maybe I'll get the car out? I'm getting itchy to drive the car. It has been two months or more since driving it. Wicked cold will be in by week's end.

SOME INSIGHT FROM U MASS PRESIDENT

Martin Meahan, president of U Mass was on a Boston television program and was asked "If you were an incoming student what would you major in? His answer was "computer science." There's lots of truth in his answer.  My day was spent getting groceries at Hannaford NB. I focused on green grapes. Saw Andy Leach, Martin D. Leach's son.  Josh called for a lift to Sullivan Tire in Sturbridge formerly C & R Tire. Visited Ronnie & Chrissie and was given two golumkes. sp. There's a Big East basketball game on the tv right now: Providence and Villanova. Still mild and will get colder as the week progresses.

A SETON HALL SATURDAY

The Pirates of Seton Hall are back in their winning Ways. They took charge over Butler and won 70-49! It seems the week of rest gave them new fire.  The next game will be against UCONN on Wednesday. I hope they can keep the momentum. I keep learning how to post pictures on my new computer.  It has been six months since my 80th birthday party. In the news tonight was the news that grapes are good for you. I eat green grapes with my breakfast variety. Now I will increase my daily intake. Did watch Roy Orbison on PBS tonight. Josh and crew went skiing to Wachusett. My Saturday was excellent!

FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE LEGION

It was Friday night at the American Legion in West Brookfield.  son Josh came by for a beer and Jeff Nickerson visited with me for a while. I had onion rings and a ginger ale. I enjoyed music from the juke box. Josh played Neil Diamond's America, and John Denver's Back Home, and the Eagles. There wasn't many members in attendance. Bill Mansfield also stopped by and said Hi.

A DAY OF DISCOVERY

This has been a day of discovery! While the weather continues to stink & my determination is paying off. I arranged.my office full of curios then did laundry in Warren.  I enjoyed two oranges and some Coke. Then I friended many new people along with reviewing the many documents I printed out. articles written in 2009. Now I know how prolific of a blogger I am. I have always enjoyed writing from day one. I am concerned about my toes on my left foot. My visits on yesterday's entry number over 30. Tomorrow, I go to Spencer to the dry cleaner and later I plan on going to the Legion at night. Hopefully the weather will improve!

THE NEW AND IMPROVED BOB POTVIN

It is a new year, a new Dell computer and much to write about. The break in the action allowed me to review where I've been. Without a computer has allowed me to think what's important and what is not. I began blogging on March 3, 2003, and I haven't missed a beat. With a new computer I have recovered documents I have completely forgotten about. The new machine is allowing me to recover documents and print things such as repairs to my first Allante: air compressor $800, New tires $450, new brakes $285, New alternator $200, new serpentine belt $65, New battery $75.00, Central Power module $400 etc. The first Allante cost me much more than Allante II which hasn't cost me anything in repairs! Allante' II is in the garage waiting for spring. Hello to Wayne Cook in Texas. The new Dell I received $405.80 in a class action suit from my power carrier. The January weather hasn't been fun! I'm transferring my Senior Center for meals to West Brookfield. Thanks to Son Josh in transferring my data. It will take me time to get comfortable with the new unit which stands me over $950. I highly recommend Dave Smith of Prime Computer of West Brookfield 508-867-6689.

A LONG DAY.. A GOOD DAY

My day was long and good! I was at the WBES for Evie's game one half day early. Clearly little Evie is on her way. I did food shopping to the tune of $55. Nothing special. I watched Wyoming lose. I have an attraction to Wyoming as I attended the school in the fall of  1999.  The highlight of this Saturday was the stellar performance of the Seton Hall Pirates! The Pirates defeated the Butler Bull Dogs 76 to 51. It was the Pirate's best performance of the year!

ELVIS ALOHA FROM HAWAII, vis Satellite

The third video is a historic 1973 television special. This program is BIG for Elvis.  All of his songs come to life and I would vote for this over the Beegees and the Eagles. Elvis was King and this program is the BEST! We had snow flakes this morning and a couple inches this afternoon. I opted not to go out for the Quaboag game and remained home. Tomorrow I will go to the WBES for Evie's game at 11:00. Josh gives Evie high grades in her performance! Seton Hall plays Butler tomorrow night  at 8:30 at Butler.

THE BEEGEES IN CONCERT

This Thursday was spent in cleaning house. I reviewed all my books and separated the ones I don't want and am planning on a trip to the Book Bear. There are lots of political biography that no longer appeal to me. I am working on  a new collection .  At midday Josh called inviting me to travel to Wachusett Mountain. We traveled cross country and were surprised to see snow and people skiing! He had to deliver some papers for registration of students. enjoyed some Dunkin Munchkins. As for the  Bee Gees I watched  a  DVD and listened to some 30 songs. They are strong but I don't think they are as strong as the Eagles!

THE EAGLES IN CONCERT DOWN UNDER

The dismal weather continues. The laundromat has new washers with a $3.50 price tag. I was the only one enjoying the new machine. Did my batch in style.  Got a call from the VA renewing a sleep aid.  Decided to watch the Eagles play 30 tunes. It was great entertainment. My favorite tunes are TAKE IT EASY  AND PEACEFUL EASY FEELINF. Did go to the Quaboag Book Shop and bought 3 titles: Vietnam, Stamps, & Ben Franklin wit. My day was good!

A GREAT DAY OF DISCOVERIES

My day was one of discoveries! I was  going through my files and first found a postcard 100 years old of a photo tagged "A Country Auction!"  It shows an auctioneer and crowd of men with hats on and a little girl seated on a stepladder. I have been looking for this card for a year. Next comes  an article I wrote in 1995 in the Old Cars Weekly News & Marketplace. " Crossing the Mississippi in an Amphicar!" This is an accounting of my great adventure I wrote and got published. Photos reveal what an Amphicar looks like.

The next article showing in the Autograph Times entitled "My Presidential Success."  This is an accounting of  getting Bill Clinton's autograph in person after  five tries. This was featured with a cartoon which I have, The last is  a  letter from the Worcester Community Action Council regarding  the payment  of fuel assistance. I called them and they are still working on it. As far as Seton Hall-Creighton game goes... Creighton  leads big time!

A NEW MONDAY IN THE NEW YEAR -2023

This proved to be a good New Year's Monday! It was nice  Monday without any foul weather.  I made it to Hannafords without any trouble. My purchases were nominal totaling some $32.00.  Came back and read the NYTimes. No USA Today today. My goal was to organize my front office. First, I arranged all of my music dvds. Next I tackled my desk. Took charge of  placing all of the new books in my bedroom book case. Tomorrow I plan on dusting my front office and sorting all papers filed in my desk. It was a good Monday!

NEW YEARS DAY 2023

HAPPY NEW YEARS DAY 2023    This Sunday began quiet with getting the newspaper. The afternoon was spent watching the Patriots and Barrett -Jackson and Steve Magnante. The day picked up with an invitation by Josh to come to a campfire . He told me to dress warmly that I did. I stayed an hour then came home. At night I watched YouTube on how to become an x-ray technician! It was good review for something I did in 1967-1968 in the U.S. Army for a year. My training was good and never to be forgotten. Tomorrow I plan on organizing all my music videos.
