RIP ROSALYNN CARTER

The Memorial Service of Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter was historic. Seeing former President Jimmy Carter laying on a stretcher seemed pathetic.Daughter Amy Carter's speech was emotional. Seeing all former First Lady's set the tone. President Joe Byden and wife and former president Bill Clinton and wife Hillary further had meaning to the service. Judy Woodruff gave a memorial speech. I remembered my visit to Plains, Georgia, with my late friend Maurice Barfield added to my appreciation of the day.I will watch the funeral tomorrow.

MY COMPLETE THURSDAY

Weight 167lbs. A complete Thursday began with getting the newspapers then going to Hannaford for groceries totaling about $65. The thrust of this day in further You Tube investigation of the JFK assassination. The main focus came on one Dorothy Kilgallen. We all think of Dorothy playing on "Whats  My Line" when  in reality she was an investigation reporter of the highest order. The lady lived a life of being in contact with celebrities.I encourage readers to check out Dorothy. You'll be surprised as I was!

A DAY OF LETTER WRITING

I.t was a day of watching YouTube and other activities, Jimmy Carter and  Barack Obama were front stage and after watching each histories I decided to write each a letter!  It is one way to obtain a response to my question. Mr Carter is 99 years old. I don't have the age of Obama at hand? Then I decided to write Pope Francis. I made a $10 donation requesting an autographed photo. It will be interesting who responds. My theory is all mail gets a response.Stay tuned.

2023 VETERANS DAY CEREMONY WEST BROOKFIELD ELEMANTARY SCHOOL

With all 240 students participating it was an heartfelt experience for me. Josh picked me up and delivered me to the school auditorium. Some veterans were in uniform, I in my new black suit. The thing that had meaning for me is all students were exposed to patriotism either by songs they sang or by giving flowers to veterans. Evie Porvin gave me a red carnation. The color guard was headed up by Jeff Nickerson. Despite the dismal weather this one day had meaning and purpose for me!

A PHONE CALL FROM STEVE MAGNANTE

Today I had a 16 minute call from Steve Magnante! Steve is now in the Madowds Rehab in Leicester. Steve sounded upbeat recounting his return to normalcy. He advises he'll be there until January. My day was without television. I do have YouTube which I exploited in watching former VP Dick Cheney's acceptance in Y2K. Recall I had breakfast with Cheney in Laramie, Wyoming, on Veterans' Day 1999.He was articulate in his message. Grandson Chase Robert is home for an overnight stay. Chase gave me 2 copies of papers he wrote for my review. The Legion was crowded. Jeff Nickerson visited along with others. The temperatures were moderate. A good Friday indeed!
