MY EASTER SUNDAY 2024

This Sunday has a religious overtone by watching Joel Osteen, first, watching other religious programs from Vatican City and Boston. The real highlight came with the exquisite Easter meal at The Marchessaults. The whole family was there..Ron, Chris, Josh, Heidi.Lily, Maddie, and Evie with crutches and a cast which I signed. Chase called and visited me later at the Poodle. His "buzz" haircut reveals a young man with a smile! The Red Sox won 5-1 in Seattle. Duke lost to South Carolina so the stage is set for the Final Four. We are waiting patiently for Tuesday night, Seton Hall U. men's against Georgia. Tomorrow is April 1..watch out!

A BASKETBALL SATURDAY

This Saturday was spent preparing for Easter Sunday.I obtained a bottle of wine for my hosts and some candy for my grandchildren. When I got to Birch Hill Josh's truck was there but no answer So I called him and was advised the family was on the way to Albany to see #22 Caitlan Clark play! This was good as Maddie and Evie would benefit by seeing the large crowd in person. I look forward to hearing their reports tomorrow! Happy Easter to all my blog readers!

ANOTHER BLAST OF COLD AIR

This Friday saw me do my banking and got an invitation for Easter Sunday from Ron & Chrissies. Watched the NY Mets loose to the Brewers. The Mets got a single hit and that was it. Prepared a bag full of "dirty" laundry for Josh who came by late afternoon with an invitation to see Evie and sign her cast. Plan on going over to Birch Hill with some Easter candy tomorrow. No Legion this day. Watched the  Game shows and NCAA basket ball tonight.

A HOLY THURSDAY INDEED

A highlight of this rainy Thursday was watching the Pope's Holy Thursday Mass from Vatican City! It was like I was in the audience because of my large Sony HDTV. Did watch The Cardinals play the Dodgers for a while from LA. I discovered on Wikipedia a feature of Massachusetts  License plates. I have been a plate enthusiast since obtaining E6804 for dad in l958. I encouraged him to build a collection which he did displaying them in the cellar. The Late Louis B. Grace, too, was a plate enthusiast. We traveled to New Hampshire to witness an amazing Mass collection owned by Stanley Hamel. Today I have POTVIN gracing my Allante'. "Hobbies are healthy" and I have many: Old Coins, Stamps, Clocks and watches and autographs! What are your hobbies?

A FATHER'S PRIDE - BEN & JOSH

Watching the Pirates of Seton Hall men's basketball brought fond memories of both son Ben & Josh graduates of Seton Hall University. Tonight's victory over UNLV 91-68 revealed the strength of The Hall. Now the players have a week before the next competition.

MY RELAXING TUESDAY IN LATE MARCH

This Tuesday was relaxing for me.The Boston Red Sox beat Texas Rangers 4-1. My man Devers had a home run to set the stage for a victory in the sunshine. The collapse of the Francis Scott Key in Baltimore was world-wide coverage. It is sad to think of the fatalities. In other matters the life-time of small bulbs is short. Must go to Hannaford NB for replacements.All-in-all my Tuesday was good! Seton Hall men's basketball versus UNLV tomorrow on ESPN2 tomorrow at 7:00 P.M.

A BRIGHT & COLD MONDAY

This Monday was one of the best days for what is to come: clouds & rain. I went about my day after my "Big Breakfast" by getting the newspapers and a slew of mail (no checks.) For lunch it was a Spicy V-8 and Lobster Bisque. My discovery was Seton Hall Men's Basketball on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM versus UNLV on ESPN2. I'll be up for the game. Tonight it was JollyTime popcorn & orange juice. The game shows ended my Monday.

A SUNNY AND COLD SUNDAY IN THE BROOKFIELS

My Sunday was quiet. After reviewing the Sunday New York Times I found the Boston Red Sox interesting. The two teams played to a 5-5 tie and DIDN'T play extra-innings. Interesting. Called sister Janet then sat out in the sunshine but it was too cold for me. I started the red Allante' and warmed it up for a while. Son Ben called from Belmont, NC and advised of Savannah's competition placing 8th.I am sending her a cash reward. Spoke with Chase. Had an interesting conversation with Chase. He comes home for Easter. Must get the mail tomorrow. This Sunday was rewarding for me!

JOSHUA KEMP WAS AN AMAZING FRIEND

It seems the whole town of West Bookfield and beyond waited in line to pay their final respects to my student "Kemp-Nut." The open casket was adorned with flowers and yes, Josh's motorcycle! Displays of photographs reminds us of Josh's abbreviated life of 29 years. The key word for family and friends is COURAGE! 'A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter' and Josh Kemp was that and then some.RIP my friend Josh!

A TERRIBLY COLD & WINDY THURSDAY

It has been winter-all-over with the winds. Gusts of over 50 mph kept yours truly in the Poodle. I watched my share of March Madness basketball and enjoyed popcorn and a Mountain Dew soda. Son Josh came in to pick up the laundry and review my posting on the blog when he discovered he was late picking up Madeline! He left in a flash taking the laundry bag of dirty  laundry! This day proved to be productive!

A DEVASTATING LOSS FOR SETON HALL MENS

St. John's seemingly led all the way. Seton Hall just didn't have what it takes and left all of us disappointed! The final score was St. John's 91 -The Hall 72. This Thursday was beautiful. Got most of my paperwork finished  in waiting for the basketball game. Did sit out in the sunshine for about 30 minutes. Tomorrow is Friday with no particular plans. I think The Legion is celebrating St. Patrick's Day?

It was  a great victory for The Hall. The team looked composed and led all the way. They have one more game versus DePaul before the Big East Tournament which begins next week. Earlier, Josh came by with Miley-the dog.  He scratched my right forearm. The price of gold remains high at $2,152 an ounce. Sons Ben & Josh must be pleased with The Hall's victory!

AN INTERESTING SUNDAY IN MARCH

My Sunday was interesting despite Seton Hall's loss to UCONN! When I saw how nice the day was it was sitting out in the sunshine for clear to an hour. Josh called and I invited him to raise the garage door and charge the battery of the red Allante'. He concurred and advised me to "drive the car to Birch Hill." When he arrived behind me I thought he would wash the car which was filthy. "Take it to Warren" implied taking  the car wash. The car never looked better after washing. Next it was NASCAR at Las Vegas. After watching it to a victory I fell across "I AM JACKIE O". One again it was a favorite of mine. This Sunday was filled with surprises.

My snacks included Sun-Maid Yogurt Covered Raisins and a drink of Ensure Original. The big game tomorrow will be UCONN- Seton Hall at Noon on CBS. Hopefully the game will be "interesting."
