ON SECOND THOUGHT

After sleeping on my proposal to return to dealing in silver and gold I have decided to take the low road. I can help folks by using my wisdom. My Arbella bill for $864.50 sobered me even more. My experience in having my Honda stolen from my garage further sobered even me more. I will pay $810.75 tomorrow saving me even more! Did you see my picture on Facebook? "Johnson" posted me at a casino! Wicked bad weather'

WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS - RAY CONNIFF

"WE WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS" is my favorite Christmas album. My weight gain came in at 156 lbs. I am encouraged by the gain of a few pounds and will continue to eat food like Ramen Noodle Soup Beef Flavor and ice cream. Will look carefully at what Hannaford offers tomorrow! Looking for a ride to the Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History in Weston Saturday. Will compensate driver arriving at 10:00 am and staying a couple of hours. With stamps on my mind, I have been reviewing Scotts 834 Calvin Coolidge $5.00 Presidential Series. Stamps are a great way to learn history!

ANOTHER SETON HALL LOSS

Sienna defeated The Hall 60 - 55. The Hall came from behind only to lose in the last minute. It seems the Hall isn't at all sharp both in foul shots and three pointers. The team must improve their skills if they want to be what they have the ability of being! It was laundry and food today. The laundromat took my money. Hannaford took $48. I enjoyed watching more of "Baseball." The day was rainy. Both Ben and Josh called late in the afternoon. I enjoy my Egg Nogg! Chase has nasal surgery tomorrow.

THE BOOK OF CLOUDS

I seated at my kitchen table when Chase walked in with this book "The Book of Clouds." I had given Chase this book several years ago and requested it back. The Book of Clouds is an awesome book of photographs with definitions. The author is well versed, and I'll refer to it in the future. Have you noticed my Christmas lights on the front to the Poodle? In driving around town there are not many lights on display. Maybe after next Sunday White Christmas festivities more will show? I watched Ken Burns "Baseball" documentary for hours this afternoon. I like Ken's programs.

SETON HALL LOSES 77-64

Seton Hall men's basketball team lost big time losing by 13 points! Oklahoma was a superior team and The Hall stunk!  This day was quiet. My back door didn't latch as the wind kept blowing it open. Josh came by and resolved the latching. Had a good time at the Legion. Mason Ostrout joined Josh and me. We ate onion rings French fries. No Jeff Nickerson or Richard Kemp. My Friday was good despite the Seton Hall loss!

SETON HALL WINS 70-69

I had packed my hopes for sure! The Hall was down by 10. Somehow a miracle happened at the last second buzzer beater captured victory! I never saw such a game! Great job Pirates! This day was good. Ronnie & Chrissie Marchesseault provided an annual Thanksgiving feast.

CHASE POTVIN TURNS 18

It was a party of emerging adults and a party of kids. The mood was light, and everyone was hugging and kissing. The mood was intimate. Josh & Heidi were host and hostess personified. I was the first to arrive and the first to leave. Amy Paquette and I shared ideas on life and living. I introduced Amy to Wayne Dyer about Your Erroneous Zones. The kids played indoor basketball then outside. Heidi arranged a vernissage of photographs covering life of Chase from birth to the present. It was a hit! The birthday cake was huge and delicious. Happy Birthday, Chase!

RUBY TUESDAY

This Tuesday seemed to be backwards. I had a 10:00 am appointment at the VA on Plantation St. Worcester. Ran late and found out my ears were full of wax - again. Got my hearing aids cleaned and traveled to the North Brookfield Savings bank in East Brookfield. Found out the Social Security checks were deposited early! Thanks Uncle Sam! Traveled to North Brookfield - Hannaford and bought $49 Worth of food. Did get a birthday card for Chase Robert who turns 18 tomorrow. While at Josh's to pay the rent JBP invited me to travel to Sturbridge Staples, Walmart and Yankee Spirits. We traveled in the sporty Infinity. Nothing on tv relating to the assassination anniversary. Disappointed. 1963. My day was full - no nap! Chase's birthday party tomorrow.

A BUSY WEEK AHEAD

I didn't realize Chase and Josh attended the Patriot game yesterday in Foxboro! Today I was discharged by the Visiting Nurse program. part of my day was spent filling my pill cady.  Tomorrow, I travel to Plantation St. Worcester to get my hearing aids fixed. Chase will turn 18 on Wednesday so I will get a card at Hannaford and a $50 bill. I don't know if my social security will be paid in advance. Also, will get a bottle of chardonnay for Ronnie & Chris for Thanksgiving where I'll attend.

SETON HALL VICTORIOUS OVER WAGNER

THE HALL was victorious over Wagner big time 82-44. It was as if Wednesday's debacle   was forgotten. Today's victory was wonderful. I don't know who the high scorers were, but I know Memphis will be the next challenge. This day was cold and windy. More like Christmas than Thanksgiving. I didn't go to Ronnie's and Chrissies as the Patriots game was in play. I did bring two bags of trash to Josh's. Chase' Jeep was the only vehicle home. Have a visiting nurse here at 10:00 in the morning to sign me off.

A COLD SATURDAY OF COLD

I started my Saturday doing laundry in Warren. Son Josh came by washing a puff with Evie. It made my visit friendly. Evie helped in drying my clothes and loading them in a pillowcase.  I do have a missing sock! I waited until after my nap to go to Hannaford for routine food purchases and Hood Golden Egg Nogg. No basketball games today. Wagner - Seton Hall tomorrow at 3:00 pm. Should be interesting. Six feet of snow in Buffalo!

ANOTHER COLD FRIDAY

We are getting our share of cold weather. IF we lived in Buffalo, we would be dealing with FIVE FEET of snow. My day was good. I drove to Plantation Street, Worcester, to the VA. I had an appointment with the pediatrist and made an appointment to see the audiologist for repair to my hearing aids. I will return on Tuesday at 10.00. The visiting nurse will stop by on Monday for a discharge. Ate at the Legion Ate fish, salad and fries. The $50 food voucher allowed me $22.50. No Josh; Jeff Nickerson visited for a while. Must food shop and laundry tomorrow.

A VERY COLD THURSDAY

It was a very cold Thursday and very expensive! I bought $85 worth of gasoline for two cars telling me we are dealing with inflation.  IF we reach $4.00 a gallon, we'll be in great trouble if we go higher, I'll sell the Allante'. Have an appointment at the Plantation Street VA to see the podiatrist. I'll leave early and take my time. Enjoying applewood thick bacon for two days in a row. My weight is up to 156 lbs. Enjoying Hood Eggnog. My goal is 160lbs.

A BIG DAY; A BIG LOSS

This Wednesday was full as I had my Honda airbag repaired at no cost to me. My car passed with flying colors. "Your car is good" was the technician's parting words. Earlier we woke up to 2 inches of snow. I heard Fijol's plow during the night.  At the end of the day all snow was gone! Seton Hall fell to Iowa big time big time 83-67! Let's home the Hall can learn from their defeat!

COLD ENOUGH TO SNOW?

This morning's low reading was 27 degrees! The day started clear with a frost and clouded up as the day wore on. The hype of all the weathermen were forecasting rain, sleet and some snowflakes. Right now the roads are wet. Tough to see as it is pitch black.  I'm not going to speculate. I must drive to Auburn to Lundgren Honda for an air bag replacement at 10:00am. I also have a podiatry appointment on Friday morning at 10:30. Josh stopped by late in the day. A tough day indeed!

MY HONDA HAS AN AIR-BAG RECALL

My 2009 Honda has an air-bag recall! I will take the car to Lundgren Honda on Wednesday for a 90-minute procedure repair - no-charge. Got a notice from Spellman Museum of Stamps and Postal History in Weston. I sent a $50 donation for it is important if a stamp collection comes my way for disposal. This museum is nearby and one of the best in the nation.  I reviewed lots of correspondence today finding materials I had been missing for months! Sent Amber Pagan in Indianapolis a random collection of my blogs of 2008. My Monday was cold bud good!

MY BEARD OF TWO MONTHS IS GONE!

Shaving as a daily activity is back! Josh did his trick. I'm glad I did it and I'm glad I am now a "clean shaving man!"  This Sunday was quiet. It was cold and the sun came out right before sunset. Looks like we will be in for some cold weather all week. Monday's activity will be spent paying bills and other organizing activities.

A SETON HALL SATURDAY

I was shaving when Chase came in the door holding a Seton Hall card, blue & white, reading SETON HALL PIRATE   CLASS 2027. Chase was beaming wanting to share the card with me. The Hall was playing ST. Peters and prevailed with a score of 80-44! St. John's prevailed over Lafayette 83-68 and Providence College is now playing Northeastern as I write. The day cleared up and saw blue skies. Josh stopped by taking out a bag of trash. He has agreed to cut my fu Manchu tomorrow! This Saturday was good Progresso New England Clam Chowder and all!

A RAINY FRIDAY

This Friday didn't turn out the way I had planned. I was unsuccessful in finding a garage to change my motor oil. It seems it isn't a priority. Did food shopping at Hannaford NB and bought some egg nogg for Heidi but the highlight was at the American Legion Post. Josh surprised me by bringing Jay Ostrout join us. The Post was crowded. We enjoyed hot dogs and onion rings and enjoyed music played on the jukebox. It was a good time!

VETERANS DAY CEREMONY WBES

Today's Veterans Day Ceremony was the first since 2019! It was all inclusive of the entire student body, the select faculty and the principal Mrs. Provost. The American Legion provided the Color Guard. My favorite patriotic song You're a Grand Old Flag was sung by the 1st Grade. George M. Cohan wrote the song. We also were entertained by the Seven Hills Four, Men of Song. All veterans were recognized and given a carnation. Earlier I received therapy by an attendant nurse at my home. This Veterans Day was meaningful for me!

A SETON HALL WEDNESDAY

The Pirates of Seton Hall are off to winning their first basketball game of the season. They are winning big at the Prudential Center, Newark, NJ. They lead Monmouth College 73-45 with 3 minutes to go. I watched the promotional video Chase received from DHU. The one compelling thought is IF Chase goes to The HALL dad can mentor Chase. I like what I see!

ELECTION DAY 2022

There was a good turnout at the WB Senior Center when I voted. A count of 450 and this was 10:30 in the morning. I made arrangements at the Texaco Station to have both cars' oil changed on Friday at 10:00 AM. A therapist came by for exercises about 1l:00. Chase came by to show me the Seton Hall University audio visual he received. It was meaningful and eventually will assist Josh & Josh in making a decision. The election results will be available in tomorrow's Telegram.

CHASE POTVIN GETS ACCEPTED TO SETON HALL

Just got a call from Chase "I've been accepted to Seton Hall!" It is meaningful because Dad and Uncle Ben are SHU Alumni! The next good news is Egg Nogg is now in the market. I love egg nogg and will have a daily cup full. Heidi likes egg nogg, so I'll get some for her. This day was nice. I spent $65.85 at Hannaford so I won't starve to death. Didn't shave my fu Manchu. Maybe tomorrow? Enjoyed the early dark by reviewing my weather memoirs. May send a select group to Pete Bouchard of NBC10?

TWO CARS NEED AN OIL CHANGE

With Ken's Citgo no longer changing oil I wonder who might be available in the Brookfields? This first day of Standard time brings about change.  I slept longer and decent. It will take some adjusting. My deadline for making the change for a Fu Manchu is tomorrow. Little Evie says, "leave it on, Pops."  The fickle weather patterns leave me breathless as Jerry Lee Louis sings! I forgot to ask Ben if he received the obituaries on JLL? Should be a good parade in Houston tomorrow. Full moon!

HOUSTON ASTROS WORLD CHAMPIONS

The Houston Astros have won the World Series! I opted to watch the entire game at the suggestion of Josh. It was a good game and the Astros deserved to win. The day was full. My full beard was transformed toa Fu Manchu. I have been given two days before I decide whether I want to keep it. My national grid bill came in again "No payment due. I must be doing something right." Had an abbreviated campfire on Birch Hill.

MADDIE NEEDED A RIDE HOME FROM QUABAUG

I received a call from Josh while at the Legion! Maddie needed a ride from Quabaug. She was stranded at school with her bags. "Bobby to the rescue!" It was my honor to pick the girl up and bring her to home at Birch Hill. I returned to the Post and visited briefly with Jeff Nickerson. I enjoyed the World Series Game between Philadelphia and Houston who won! Next game Saturday night in Houston with the Astros leading 3-2. Getting my "growth trimmed" tomorrow by Josh. Tempted to remove it!

A WORLD SERIES NO-HITTER!

I wasn't aware of a no-hitter being thrown until I watched a repeat of the game this afternoon! The thought of Mr. Leach playing Don Larsen's perfect game on the PA system at North Brookfield High School in 1956!  Today was mild. I had an orthopedic nurse come and have me do some exercises. Josh was busy with his daughters. The days are getting darker by 5:00 pm!  The moon is about half size at this point. My Friday will be to Tony's Cleaners - Spencer. Hope to attend the American Legion in the afternoon!

THE INVITATION FOR A BEER

Josh invited me to come over to Birch Hill for a beer! O'Doul's. I had completed my food shopping and laundry and it was 4:00 PM.  and the invitation sounded good. I recalled Josh saying, "and you know how I like potato chips".  I bought a Family Size of Lay's, and this is where the blog begins. The bag of chips was devoured in an hour and Josh ate most of it! Our visits usually cover a myriad of topics. Chase got an e-mail from Seton-Hall University on his application and the race has begun.  There are probably a dozen applications in the mail! I told Josh I wanted his opinion on my beard! Both Chase & Josh like it!

NOVEMBER 1 2022

A new month with meaning. It seems the new month brings about new meaning. The moon is waxing and will be full in a few days. The mood is good as the World Series is tied and will probably go a full seven games. My day was OK with two nurses coming in for exercises. I didn't go far. Spoke with Josh but that's it. Tomorow's weather is promising and maybe good for several days?
