WEST BROOKFIELD'S COTTAGE STREET HAVE SYMBOLIC VALUES :BEAUTY!

Some folks might remember  the Dutch Elm Disease of the late Fifties. Towering elms succumbed by "bleeding and weeping to death." Felling these towering sentinels of Nature saw hundreds of Elm trees go the way of the chain saw. Elm was a "pissy" smelling wood and not attractive to the wood stove. The West Brookfield Town Common lost traditional shade TREES to the Dutch Elm Disease.

Today we are not faced with a disease of trees but a disease of thought! Since learning of this slaughter I have been deep in thought as to what might be. I repeat NEVER!

There are too many options on Cottage Street. GO FIGURE!

I don't know who has been calling the shots in recent tree removals in Town?

Indiscriminate tree chopping is for the birds. Power companies, have for years, crafted some fancy footwork in SAVING  trees of all breeds. Missions of dollars are spent working around the tree issue. I know of a Spencer attorney who was successful of gaining an award of  $40,000 for a client who felt they had been wronged. The Town of W.B. had better watch out!

I only speak the truth!
