VISIT THE BROOKFIELS' HISTORIC SIGHTS

By visiting the historic landmarks of Olde Brookfield you can get a terrific insight on the waythings were.We are an Old American Towne dating back to 1660.Museum artifacts reveal a Pre-Columbian culture maybe for thousands of years. Gradually our English forebears began building small homes. Winters in the Brookfields were bad ( and still are.)

Several Town Pounds exist today. You can find one such pound down Bates Street, North Brookfield and another Pound on Foster Hill Road at the Brookfield town line.
A marker "Here Stood The First Meeting House" is located on the Tom Ducasse estate  at the junction of Foster Hill and South Main St., N.B. It is a sin to see this inscribed boulder listing ..in need of being straightened up and letters repainted.

I guess folks would rather be scratching tickets, etc.

Foster Hill markers are in better shape. As a boy I was taken to and pointed out our herige. Today, we need a renewed spirit.
