OUR MIRACULOUS EYE IN THE SKY

Today's New York Times features this fantastic photo taken from the International Space Station. Satellite imagery today gives us all front row seats in observing Mother Nature... and it is because of JFK's vision "We choose to go to the moon brought about the Tiros meteorological technologies.

Hurricanes and their long-lasting memories seem to last a lifetime. All I heard as a boy growing up in North Brookfield was how severe the hurricane was. Years later I discovered the winds atop Bell Hill NB were estimated at 110mph. Trees were blown over everywhere! The kicker and reason was it rained for days before the fury of the Long Island Express which followed the course of the Connecticut River.

Now, with the incredible hype of all reporters of weather priorities will change and the angst factor will spike.

I don't really get too bent out of shape with all of this din! "Johnson" and I are our own meteorologists!

Son Ben and Family live in Belmont, NC. My reports will be LIVE.
