CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS

Christopher Columbus was quite a guy in my humble opinion. He was a daring SOB who didn't take no for an answer. Other Crowns turned him down before Isabella and Ferdinand said "Yes." Imagine what his voyages involved. But Columbus wasn't the first. Leif Erikson did the trip centuries before.


The thing that isn't glamorized in this time in history  is the transporting of  indentured servants (slaves) some 12 million Africans.History also shows Columbus was considered a crackpot trying to sell his crazy idea that the world was round and not flat.At San Salvadore Columbus called the Indians indios.


The name of Columbus is revered in America. Maybe 10 states are names after Columbus: MO< SC< GA< IN< MS< NE< WI< MT<OH AND  and District of Columbia.


If we conceptualize the voyages of Columbus we must realize the passengers were humans without penicillin. So much can be said about the man who had hoped to find gold. I think the King and Queen did the world a favor... something that will never be forgotten therefore we pause to a man born in 1451 and died in 1506.. so many years ago.. "Thanks Columbus, and crew for making our world truly round!
