THE FRANK COOKE ROLLS ROYCE ESTATE AUCTION 2006

North Brookfield.. September 23, 2006 The Vintage Garage

The Big Top came to town

BYRON

Drazek's House Spring Street

a massive white vinyl tent behind Quinn's Garage, The Brookfields. Frank Cooke's lifetime collections of Rolls Royce and other fantastic cars went up for auction. This was a "BIG BOY"S AUCTION!" Auction enthusiasts came from all over America and I said my "Goodbye's' to a man and his machines" Frank Cooke.

This auction can be found on line under "BONHAM'S THE FRANK COOKE COLLECTION"

Rolls enthusiasts were bidding as if there were no tomorrow. Bids of $50,000 were witnessed by me. Six-figure results topping off at 267,799 for a 1957 Bentley lead the way. Six cars fetched more than $100,000!

It was truly a retro review of my 45 years in friendship with Mr. Cooke. He mentored me in so many ways from English poetry and Lord Byron to being the Ancient Mariner.

How lucky can this protégé be.. to be trained by the best?!

The Cooke Auction fetched $1,764, 763 according to Bonham's. The auction catalog may be found for those curious minds and Rolls Royce buffs who enjoy The Finer Things in Life!.. I do!
