MY DIABETES DIET REVEALED BY VA DIETICIAN

Sue Burchman RD of the Worcester VA shed some light on my concerns for eating properly. Food categories include "Bread, Grains & Starchy Vegetables. Then there's meat and protein ..then Non-Starchy Vegetables Fruits and Milk.

The secret in having proper blood-sugar levels is in combining servings of bread, grains, and Starchy vegetables with meat and protein. Chicken, Turkey, Beef, Pork, Fish, Shellfish, Cheese, Cottage Cheese, Eggs, Peanut Butter, Nuts and seeds are from the provided list.

Portion control, exercise, medications and others all play into the equation. Another big word is DISCIPLINE!Snacks can be the killers as can a bag of grapes. 15 grapes are the limit!

Vegetables galore are on the list.

Proper instructions were given in how to use the meter measuring the blood levels of sugars. Three times a week, only at different intervals.

I go back on July 24th and am hopeful things will improve,  Doctor Mike Lee. LOL.
