BOSTON RED SOX YESTERDAY AND TODAY - A GREAT HISTORY BOOK, INDEED

Anybody who loves the Red Sox should buy this book! It is a "class" production covering all of the bases. As a boy who enjoyed the annual trip to Fenway Park each summer, reviewing this book inspires me in the way of the Red Sox history.

Chapters are :
  • Welcome to Fenway Park
  • Ten Reasons to Love the Red Sox
  • They Won Our Hearts
  • Boston's Fall Classics
  • Magical Red Sox Moments
Everyone seems to have a favorite Sox player from Ted Williams to Mookie Betts. Personally, I like YAZ... but there are many, many more heroes of Fenway. Luis Tiant, Pedro Martinez, Jimmy Piersal, Clyde Vollmer, Frank Malzone and myriads more donned the uniform with pride.

I think former owner, Tom Yawkey, gets a bad rap. The Yawkey Charitable Trust have given tens of millions in health care. I even receided a letter from Mr. Yawkey back in 1974 or thereabouts! He wrote "we always try to do our best."

The Red Sox have evolved from playing only day games in wool uniforms to today's garb. The men today sport jet-black beards and steaming dreadlocks. Amazing.

Sox traditions continue. From generation to generation it's 'BASEBALL ON BOSTON!"

This one book can make a great Father's Day Gift in anybody's home library. My book was a gift from Syb Sandman on April 24th. Thanks, Sybil!

Fenway then.. Fenway now.. Fenway forever!
