The center of North Brookfield, Mass is in flux! It appears there are way too many vacancies around town. But why? Sure there has been progress with the new Dollar General on the Oakham Road next to the NBHS Complex yet so many traditional landmarks have yet been abandoned:
- The News Room
- Worcester County Bank
- Benvenuti's Fruit Store
- The Police Station
- Tick's Barber Shop
- Mac's TV
- First National Store
- Collins Dry Goods
- And many, many more!
- The Drug Strore
- The Auction Gallery
- Etc.
Economic Development in a community means "developing the economy!" Further it is the call of citizens.. all citizens..to consider opening an enterprise!
There appears to be activities around the Town House. That's good but how can such a historic North Brookfield Landmark get to this state of disrepair? How can institutions such as North Brookfield Savings Bank turn their back to the plight of the Town?
There has been a decentralization of the town.. my Hometown and this bothers me. But why? North Brookfield needs a Rebirth!
