Dion DiMucci's rendition is my favorite.The Miracles, Marvin Gaye, Moms Mabley, Harry Bellafonte, Ray Charles, Emmylou Harris, Whitney Houston and John Bon Jovi have also etched eternity into the son's Lyrics. Dion embellishes the song with a romantic harp. The song has sadness:

Can you tell me where he's gone?
He freed a lot of people, but it seems the good die young
But I just look around and he's gone..."
Sad to say not every human has compassion. "The Me" attitude closes the doors on the poor and down trodden. Fortunately 'Abraham, Martin and John' remind us of what Vallentine's day should be .....LOVE!
