Saint Louis is a major league university in a major league city! Last night I discovered SLU on YouTube. It brought back so many meaningful memories when I was an undergraduate (1962-1965.) This Jesuit Institution is big. The student count is 13,505 - 8687 undergraduates - 4,818 graduate students. It is located in Mid-Town St. Louis. Students from all 50 states are represented.
While I was a student, both SLU and the City of Saint Louis was going through a re-birth. Today my college is truly a world-class institution of higher learning. Both Fathers Paul C. Reinert, SJ and Lawrence Biondi SJ made things happen. Now Dr. Petrello is at the helm.
Saint Louis, Missouri is a big city .. about half the size of Boston. St. Louis is a historic city. SLU is the oldest university west of the Mississippi.(1818) Saint Louis is renown for its contribution to Major League sports. One Stan Musial is at the top of the heap.
Anheiser-Busch is the biggest name in beer and is a great benefactor. It is a stopping point with political figures and others visiting. The Gate Way Arch attracts millions.
Thanks to the Internet and social medias Saint Louis has come back to life in my life! GO BILLIKENS! (a god of good luck!)
