"Gold is Gold" and that's it. Numismatic rarities seem to be selling around Spot Gold according to ads and my experiences in finding a buyer for my 1903-s Double Eagle. Bullion gold is .999 Fine; US gold coins are 21.6 karat alloyed with copper.
