CASSIUS CLAY AKA MUHAMMAD ALI

There is not an American of the 20th Century more controversial than Ali's His big mouth earned him fame and fortune. His disparaging lip and loudmouth ways brought millions of fans his way. In the ring Ali was #1. I personally liked George Foremen a heck of a lot more.

Cassius Clay defied Uncle Sam in resisting the draft. While I was in Fort Knox running the mile an doing 20 pushups Ali fought his own war with Uncle Sam. He never knew what it was like to don fatigues or use a rifle on the shooting range. Clay's rebellion cost him millions and his horror. Granted, the suit was overturned some four years later, Ali lost in many ways.

His embattled life fighting Parkington's disease was debilitating. I suppose Muhammad Ali was, indeed, a good man in the final analysis. The Vietnam  War ruined a nation and millions of American lives. It's too bad we just can't put our heads beneath pillows and forget it all. And yes, Ali was the greatest, Ali and Donald Trump! Ali is quoted as saying "I'm A BAD MAN!"
