MARCH SNOWS OF YESTERYEAR

The latest computer models are prognosticating bin March snows in the ensuing week ahead. Brace yourself as Mother would say.

For the record,  Mother Rita's handwritten weather diary  of 1993 - March blows me away! Saturday, March 13th 'Blizzard  20 degrees 50 mph winds.. white out 19.2 INCHES OF SNOW 60 mph gust!"

I remember it well living atop Birch Hill. Nothing in recent memory can top this baby! We were socked in cold weather until Friday, March 26th "Melting beautifully" in 60's " SPRING FEVER!" Gram's weather journals of 25 years tell me I had better adjust my weather attitude! Or should I saw "WE!"

Going back to 1956 we had a Tripple Whammy "a whole winter's worth of snow in 8 days. I saved the Evening Gazette headlines for years. But why? I hate winter/I love Nor'Easters.

The Plowboys should rake in the bucks. It wasn't until April 8th in '93 that the temperature hit 73 degrees. Man, oh Manechevitz , we are hardly over with winter. Why me, Lord?
