MY JOHNSON/RED SOX SATURDAY
Dick Johnson called to my attention the growth of weeds on the spillway at Doane Pond. It seems somebody is overlooking a precarious situation that can end in disaster! After inspecting the problem we headed for the Quabbin. it is a peaceful visit we go to many times in a year.The Quabbin is the pride of Massachusetts. We were going to eat at McDonalds in Belchertown but it is closed for remodeling so we ate in Ware. The usual hamburger, fries and drinks for both of us set me back $7.50. Then Johnson reminisced about his time with Air-America in Cambodia. Next, I came home to watch the Red Sox. They lost the first game 1-0 on a Joe Carter-type walk off home run. It is sad to see the Sox continue to skid.The second game is being played as I write. Laundry tomorrow in Warren.
