HOUSEHOLD CHAIRS

The chair industry is far reaching. My prized chair is MY BENT BROTHERS college chair from Saint Louis University. It was made in Gardner, MA 40 years ago. These chairs make great gift to But chairs go back for centuries as fashionable antiques or are reproduced. They can be big or they can be small... even a potty chair for the grandkids.

WINDSOR is a real popular chair and a MORRIS Chair has a touch of class to it. Today, Son Josh was proud to show me 6 Bentwood chairs.. a matching set for his Birch Hill Estate. I guided Josh in his find.

The chairs.. all 6 of them.. will be used in the ensuing season of 2018. Chairs are sturdy yet some will succumb to heavyweights.

I have dealt in ladder back Windsor chairs, Captains chairs, Continuous Arm Windsor chairs and more. Cain and rush seats are popular. The craft seems to have gone by the wayside! Nobody has the time or patience.

Of course the term chair may apply to Chairman of the Board. I like he study of New England Chairs! I gave my dad a platform rocker once. JFK made popular his rocking chair. Then there are those who claim "they are off their ROCKER!" LOL.

This blog came about with Josh's acquisition of a matching set of 6 bentwood beauties.
