THE WORCESTER ART MUSEUM

The Worcester Art Museum seems to be a quiet museum! It is quiet until you come across fine silver tankards and porringers  fashioned by the hands of Paul Revere! The one collection is truly a highlight of the many displays at hand. I always enjoy visiting the WAM as there is one piece of furniture I have a personal experience with: a Renaissance Revival sofa or bench ornately carved in fine detail.

But the WAM has some of the finest Period furniture in the country as it seems. As an antique dealer I recognize the finest HiBoys, Card Tables, Tambour Desk  and the fine oil paintings rendered by Winslow Homer, Gilbert Stuart, and John Singleton Copley, Etc.. One fantastic tall clock reaches almost 8 feet high.

I found the docents walking the floors of the museum most cordial. One man, Bob Cardoza, recalled my previous visit and we chatted about mutual friends of the Brookfields! Bob says "I meet people from all over the world!"

The WORCESTER ART MUSEUM is WORCESTER! Further, the gift shop is one of the finest around. I encourage folks looking for a winter interlude to drive to Fifty-Five Salisbury St. Worcester for a change-of-pace experience. Education programs avail for patrons of all ages.
