As an x-ray tech knowledge of the human anatomy and positioning of same is what it's all about. It is the Radiologist who interprets the images. Traditionally, films were placed on the area to be studied. ZAP.. radiation is transmitted from the x-ray tube. Today, it is a whole new ballgame.
Advancing technologies are amazing. In Vietnam we were using a 60 MA portable unit and hand-developed the study, dried the film then presented to the radiologist for a reading. Bone fractures were the most common study. Special studies allow the case in point to be interpreted.
The history of x-radiation goes back to Roentgen who discovered the process accidentally in about 1895.
