My enthusiasm expands exponentially with the advent of a Nor'Easter-in-the-making! I have written accountings of winter storms and hurricanes since 1954! Today I just got off the phone with MAXIM WEATHER INSTRUMENTS of New Bedford 508-995-2200. I highly recommend this business as the best. Check them out and speak with Claude Roposa as I did. In being a weather observer I embrace all aspects of a good blizzard. Over the decades we have endured many a storm. My all time favorite was DON KENT. Don told it like it was. With his piece of chalk and a blackboard he proved to be best weatherman ever. I spoke with Don on occasions. He explained about air mass movements. Pressure gradients from highs to lows tell it all.
The beauty of being a weather enthusiast has allowed me to "dig in" even before the storm hits. I have ridden in a plow truck with Benny Blake in 1959.Uncle Luke and I did snow with his bucket scoop at Christmas time. Weather has always has been fun.
My ambitions were in being a meteorologist... even as I began my college education. One problem. I did not comprehend calculus and differential equations... so I majored in Geography instead.
For a lifetime weather has been fun for me..whether or not! LOL
Now comes an incredible weather system..another storm of the century! Doctor Richard B. Johnson, a meteorologist of sorts claims "What storm?!" We disagree! I say "Fasten your seatbelts!" The Weather Channel is fantastic in giving us THE BIG PICTURE!
The WC graphics are tremendous. Tune this one source in meteorology as factual as authoritative.
So, for now, enjoy your Thursday as I am doing. Keep records, take pictures and life!
