I left home at 8:15 for a 10:30 appointment at Mass General. I am glad I did! I got to Leicester and headed for the Mass Pike in Auburn. BAM. The announcer told of traffic problems and problems they were. I zigg-zagged across Route 20 aand opted to follow smart travelers. I got lucky, I guess, and ended up in Shrewsbury onto Route 9 headed east. It was surreal. More traffic. Then onto The Pike...slow, slow, slow. Nothing went my way!
As I got to the pike.. more of the Same. I was getting nervous I stopped in Natick for a pit stop and encountered more "stop and go!" Was I going to make it for my appointment? Storrow Drive drove me crazy. I began to maneuver employing my UBER techniques. I jumped two red lights and then some. I became more aggressive with each minute!
The MGH parking garage gave me a break. I parked in spot 353 and ran towards the elevator. Floor 9 and a little luck saw me check in at 10:22. I made it in time.
RETURN ON THE MASS PIKE
Never have I seen such torrents on I-90. It is amazing we didn't all drown. No accidents - no kidding. Puddles personified. Credit to all of the drivers.
With gasoline at 3.17 on the Pike I chose to buy cheap gas in Southbridge. I tanked up buying 15 gallons. I saved 5 bucks making my trip worthwhile. No matter where I drove the downpours were terrible.
I traveled 145 miles total and made it home without incident! I hope this never happens again!
