ON KEEPING WARM

A common sense approach to beating the cold and staying warm is in order!

• Heat seeks cold!
• Wind-chill is only what it feels on your flesh
• Exploit solar: Open rooms to take in sunshine; pull blinds and curtains where there is no sunshine.
• Keep doors closed to rooms not in use
• WEAR LAYERS OF CLOTHING. I wear a knit hat for my bald head.
• Wear gloves inside
• Direct heat to where it is needed with circulating fans.
• Reduce drafts by putting up blankets in doorways
• Buy a wood-burning stove; heat with wood!
