"THE DREAM OF THE AGES" - MOON LANDING 1969

It's too bad JFK didn't live to see the Moon Landing some 50 years ago. It's too bad he didn't live to see the 842 lbs of moon rocks retrieved.

In 6 weeks the world will be celebrating Neil Armstrong's testimony of his leaping onto the silver powder of the moon's surface. Last night's Smithsonian Channel's program was great in recounting what the astronauts went through in training for their 4 day trip. All astronauts had great credentials being test pilots.

I think this 50th Anniversary celebration of Apollo's success is a great way to share it with our youth! Nothing should be taken for granted given the way this one success has affected  the history of mankind.

On the personal side I spent the winter seeking employment at the Kennedy Space Center to no avail. I did have the chance to talk with folks who were part and parcel of this historic event. Now my granddaughter Madeline Grace Potvin is working on a paper regarding this historic voyage!
