NEW YEAR'S ADVICE "GET A LIFE!"

"Getting a life" were words flowing from an 89 year old professor's mouth  at The Antiques Show in Sturbridge. And he wasn't kidding! His black fedora set him aside as The Ancient Mariner of 2017.

I am always in awe when I meet a near nonagenarian still kicking. "I teach subjects nobody wants French art history. This guy is real.

My entre' into the Hawthorne Exhibit Hall filled with ebullient enthusiasts of the arts."Nice outfit mister!" The red Camel Hair coat and flag trousers met with the approval of nearly 30 comments. I love it. My Farrell Williams campaign hat, too, tweaked the morning minds of men and women.

As I moseyed around dealer booths I saw a "RADAR 1" vanity plate from CT. After all these years nothing in particular met my fancy. A globe  in a footed platform was offered for $70. Pass. The attendees seemed to be almost Senior Citizens for the most part.

Market conditions are dubious. No dealer admitted in "getting rich quick" anymore. The reality is it is our DNA. Maybe the old professor's advice is the best for the New Year."GET A LIFE!" I saw the New Year in and now am streaming with my Vienna Orchestra ready for the Radetzky March!
