PARADISE IS BENEATH THE SWORD'S SHADOW

The provocative thought and reality of a B-52 Stratofortress bomber losing an engine brings me once more back to the Vietnam War! I never gave the war as a function of fighter jets and bombings however The Internet is pregnant with thought. First, the Ho Chi Minh Trail was bombed continuously for 5 years!


The U.S. Air Force flew 5.25 million sorties over Vietnam.


Where was I when all of this air power and air strikes were going on??




We lost 2,251 aircraft, 1737 to hostile action.




A total of 31 B-52 bombers  have been lost.. 17 in combat! Amazing.




The U.S. Navy lost 17 F-4 in combat; Marines 72 in combat. The F-105 saw 282 downed in combat and the U.S. Army lost 5,086 helicopters including 3,000 Hueys!




Veterans don't necessarily talk much about their war experiences. The reality is W AR IS A FACT OF LIFE... no matter where... no matter when.


AMERICA IS MIGHTY. PARADISE WILL ALWAYS BE FOUND IN THE SHADOWS OF OUR DREAMS..if we're lucky.
