Lionel & Cindy Lamoureux's lovely home in West Brookfield
There's a great psychological impact in being Home For The Holidays. I was away from home twice. 1964 and 1967 St. Louis & Vietnam. I yearned for the security and love of my family. The fires of friendship and family warmed my soul!Being away chilled my spirit. Be it in college or the Army, I was Mr. Lonely!
I have so many memories of growing up. My godfather Luke Grondin was my drinking buddy. One Christmas we plowed snow with his bucket-loading Ford tractor at 3:00 AM. LOL. My warmest memory of Christmastime was walking down to the Wendemuth Farm to buy African violets for Mother! Of course it was in a blizzard 1966.I was in Leave from Uncle Sam!
Christmas should be about family! Dad was fascinated by burning ash wood in his parlor stove. I was fascinated by the attendant aroma. Mother knitted and my dog Dusty lay there on the hand-braided rug having a nightmare.
DON'T WORRY... BE HAPPY
Two months from now it will be all over. As I said..Play Some Christmas Music. Have some grog. My favorite is Egg Nog! Why not take a walk down memory lane?
