JFK was marvelous in quoting people in his speeches. Kennedy had a true sense of history and technology. "We choose to go to the Moon.".. But several hundred years earlier JFK cited one erudite man saying "the Compass, gunpowder and the Printing Press were tantamount in man "as a recorder of his deeds." I love it.
Today, man has more than enough printing presses at his disposal. I feel here in my shop the truth prevails...cordless and wireless but not hapless. If man would wake up to the fact of how spoiled he really is. Planet Earth, in some societies, is benefitting by the goose that is laying golden eggs.
If I had lots of money I'd buy a few golden eggs. But man is not intelligent as obesity is killing us along with booze and fags. Man has free will if only he puts on his thinking cap!
We must shed our old ways and habits and make room for the future which is now here. Go out into world as I do.. and see for yourself what I blog about. Flip phones don get it with me .Our
Our world is full of Oldies....old furniture...old belongings... and old attitudes. We all could stand a "mental shampoo." My Buddy" Dr.Peale" had the right idea. "The Power of Positive Thinking." So how is your attitude? Dam this... dam that... dam the Millennials come on.. loosen up as I loosen my belt. Set some goals as I have.
The newer Generation impresses me. They have rebelled against all rules and regulations... and maybe for good reason. Our culture and society is a result of the melding and acculturation of humanity. Little Canada was once full of Frogs yet it's "Still Harts." Observe your surroundings. What do you see? Denial or acceptance? These observations can be real reality checks for us.
Don't be snobs and holier than thou types. Let the rich have their way in misery! Instead, Make Someone Happy. Happiness is a commodity... it is a predisposition.. either you are or you are not. Sure there have been times in my life when I met the fork in the road. Sadly, I confess, I took the wrong road.. other times I "took the road less traveled" One philosopher wrote "The only evidence of life is growth."
I can't wait for Spring. There's a miracle in the work for about 10 days when birds sing and flowers bloom. If "Johnson" wins big tomorrow at the casinos in Connecticut and "flips me a bone" I do believe I'll buy an armadillo or whatever those red flowers are. The miracle of life. In Winter we must force our Springs! Make sense? The redolence of flowers are nature's perfumes. Why pay a bundle for Chanel #5?
You know, it is a pleasure for me to send my word forth as JFK espoused in the Early Sixties.
So, put log on the fire and sip some "Vin" to the new year. Play some good music. It is good for our souls no matter our ages.
No matter where you go... no matter what you do.....please. make someone happy!.
