TV sales pioneer, Ed Belcher, late of Ware, Mass once related to me a secret in selling "It's tough to beat a man at his own game." Such was the case in Denver. The Bronco's rode their bronco onto victory over our New England Patriots. The Mile High City catapulted the Denver football fans into the stratosphere. Although I am not a football-type of fan...the truth never fell dead in the street.
AS a passionate baseball fan in the 80's, the name of Bill Buckner haunts me to this day.The damn Sox opened up their champagne too soon and lost to the Amazin' New York Mets in 7 Games. But that was then and the performance of the Red Sox in the past two years truly is amazin.' Wait 'til next year.
But isn't all of life amazing? Our lives should be fashioned after winners not losers. Babe Ruth struck out lots and lots of times. He also sent the baseball a sailing out of Yankee Stadium lots and lots of times. Ruth won the title "The House That Ruth Built!"" I like what Babe Ruth stands for.
In our own lies, "hitting homeruns" is what life should be about. How do you connect with life? Solid contact or do you get lots of curveballs? The Late Yogi Berra could hit anything.. even the broad side of a barn door. LOL. Becoming a "hitter" to life means practice, practice, practice. So how's is your vocabulary building coming? What are you doing about building a better vocabulary?
I don't have any problem with any type of competition. Life is a game. and whether you kick, pass, swing, shoot or slap the puck remember..."It's only a game." You win some.. you lose some etc.
Today, some have hangovers, and with good reason. Being a Monday Morning Quarterback will not ease
your pains....
