ELSIE THE COW

"Elsie The Cow is a cartoon character developed as a mascot for the Borden Dairy Company in 1936 to symbolize the "perfect dairy product." Of significance is Elsie was born at Elm Hill Farm in Brookfield ,Mass, in 1936 with a name "You'll Do Lobelia."

"Elsie was named one of the top 10 Advertising Icons of the 20th Century and Elsie The Cow has been among the most recognizable product logos in the United States and Canada" according to Wikipedia.

Elsie had four kids. "Beulah, Beaureguard, Larabee and Lobelia." She got her fame appearing at Bordens 1939 New York's World's Fair "Rotolactor." Elsie's cartoon mate was Elmer the Bull!

I think it's important to know local history and Elsie The Cow is at the top of the list.
