WEIGHT-GAIN & THE NEW YEAR

So how much weight have you lost since Thanksgiving? Have you maneuvered around the bacon-wrapped scallops, Egg  Nog spiked with rum and chocolate-covered cherries? How do your clothes fit? Somehow we are into the year 2017 a bit heavier!

I am guilty. So I ask .. "What are we going to do about it?" I have learned from the VA "portion control" can be your secret in loosing 5 or ten pounds gained. Increasing fruits and vegetables may help. Less alcohol, perhaps. More exercise including using your brain more.

It seems everyone likes a good time. We enjoy bantering stuff that has little meaning like "the price of tea in China." As I look at human nature in Hannaford Market in North Brookfield, humanity is not starving to death. If anything we tend to overeat.

But my big complaint to it all is $10.00 a pack tobacco. Something's gotta give. I never thought of the 55cent cost of tobacco when I quit. Before that butts were even less.

But now, losing weight from the Holiday-gain and what goes on with quitting cigarettes can be a formidable undertaking.

I won't weigh-in until tomorrow as I don't want to face the music. Instead I'll say HAPPY NEW YEAR AND KEEP ON TRUCKING!
