S.Sgt Bobby Murphy (a shrimp.)
D/15/4 Fort Knox, KY Conscription May 13, 1966
N.B. Nothing in the world equals that of BASIC TRAINING! Nothing.
We served our Country as we should have. Regardless. Following Basic Training we went our separate ways; I to Fort Sam Houston, Texas for X-Ray Training.91p20. Wonderful. Then to Fort Dix for OJT then to VIETNAM for 12 months and 12 days.
I was young, cocky, good looking, educated and yes, Patriotic. Those 1 year, 9 months and two days are emblazoned onto my soul. Thanks Mother Rita for saying "If you can go to St. Louis U you can SERVE YOUR COUNTRY!
