THE VIETNAM DRAFT

The Draft in Vietnam..Who beat it and how? This topic remains quite provocative more than 50 years later. This LIFE Magazine article of December 9, 1966 is quite revealing. It  seems the college campus provided an inordinate immunity from the grips of Uncle Sam. I was drafted Friday, May 13, 1966, and enjoyed moment of my U.S. Army experience as I was an "old man" nearing age 24.


I was very lucky and enjoyed most moments while in uniform. Those who never served Uncle Sam will never have a clue to the contrary!
