'NOW IS THE WINTER OF OUR DISCONTENT'

William Shakespeare is quoted as is John Steinbeck about our dastardly winter months. Clearly winters challenge our souls. We all must endure things like snowstorms, gales, and brief days. Essentially it sucks!

I just love to cuddle up with blankets and afghans fashioned by the hands of my mother Rita. I like my sleeping conditions hot! I think about those incredible winters our forebears had. The had handmade quilts, slept together, and yes, even drank some hard cider.

Today we live in the lap of luxury. Only problem is our sleep may be interrupted by a television, a tablet or a smart-phone. Not good. I hear many folks bitching about horrible night's sleep! My sleep last night was excellent!

Now comes the storm "HARPER." It seems the whole country is experiencing foul weather. Our short-range weather is of snow and bitter cold. I'll stock up a little on food and be about my business. The reality is we endure this every winter. We forget the smell of lilacs, lily-of-the-valley, and apple blossoms.

The concept of one day at a time rings true in the framework  of lie.

So my friends.. "look to this one day!"

And, oh yes, my blood sugar read today was 98 and weight 182.8.
