DIXVILLE NOTCH, NH

Dixville Notch, NH is hard on the Canadian border of Quebec. It is known for the "longstanding middle-of-the-night vote in the presidential election, including the New Hampshire primary." Since 1960  the tiny town's voters have cast their votes in both the primary and general election. The results are very interesting!

The run of names is also very interesting. Forgotten names such as Mondale, Kemp, Perot, Anderson, Dole and others reveal many candidates tested the waters. A few made it big.

Senator Elizabeth Warren has kicked off the 2020 race by doing an exploratory discovery. Last night I caught her speaking in Iowa at a town meeting. Her ambitions reveal of the arduous process in gaining the country's trust. It seemed like she was hoarse in her delivery!

So I ask..Who will do her job in the Senate if she is on the campaign trail?

Following the candidates in NH will be fun. My experiences show all men and women will be accessible in town hall settings. I learned this by covering the 1988 and 1992 runoff. In 1988 I took my sons Ben and Josh to see people like Sen. Paul Simon, Jesse Jackson and others! Ben had an assignment to write a paper about Mr. Simon. Seeing Sen. Simon in person made the difference for my son.

Political junkies can expect many, many opportunities to see candidates in the flesh. Looking for something to do in the next 2 years? Drive to NH and see for yourself.. it can be most revealing and rewarding!
