The Late Paul R. Langevin of North Brookfield and Sun City West,Az used to get tanned and die his hair. He thought he's be more attractive. Then one day somebody put a bug is his BIG head: Dying your hair causes cancer! Guess what? Ole Langevin ceased his vain ways... then he contracted cancer at the other end!
Allen Chase once told me 'Women love grey and white hair', Loving Mother Rita said "Bob, you don't know what we go through!" Today, nail salons flourish.. many run by Vietnamese Americans wearing masks feeding on feminine pride.. , not to mention the usurious prices paid for the services.
In Vietnam, local barbers would "crack our cervical spines" at the end of a grooming. Ya..Right!
I maintain "THE HARDEST THING IN LIFE IS JUST TO BE YOURSELVES AND NOT SEEK THE APPROVAL OF OTHERS!"
Yes, I delight in being well groomed, and wearing nice clothes, having shined shoes, and being clean shaven with a splash of Old Spice to boot but to go the extremes is categorically absurd. Some businessmen even have clear nail polish to boot!
JOHNNY CASH has a wonderful song in "These Hands." Listen to it if you want to see where Bob Potvin is coming from!
- You can judge a man by his house.
- By his car.
- By his shoes.
- By his hands.
- By his wife.
Sincerely,
Robert Louis Potvin
Calloused and old..
