Remember Fenway Park when "BUCK PRINTING" was the only ad around the ballpark? Have you noticed the myriad of display ads smothering the walls lately? It seems the romance of the American Pastime has turned into a cluster of want ads. Are the Boston Red Sox that desperate to meet their humongous payroll.. or are they just selling space for the fun of it?!
In Saint Louis Anheiser-Bush sports an American Eagle scoreboard in neon. When a homerun is hit the Eagle flies off into oblivion. At Fenway, it seems the ads are more captivating than a David Price fastball. Sorry, I just don't like it.
Money is the name of the GAME today. Ticket agents are in competition with Scalpers. Everything seems to be Made in China. Oh really?!
The National Pastime has turned ugly. The fans are the true losers.
