After the Red Sox lost to Seattle 4-3, I decided to take a journey around New Braintree and North Brookfield. I figured seeing Spring in these towns would be rewarding. and it was. The thousands of yellow daffodils allowed me to realize these plantings were the effort of one June Glidden! As I traveled with my air conditioning on my next stop was seeing the modified version of Bates Observatory. Next, I drove over to St. Joseph Cemetary. where I was greeted with the thousands of names on the headstones. including names of Richard Gagnon, Donald St. Cyr and June Messier. The Southerly views to West Brookfield and Warren were beautiful on this late Thursday in April. My trip was over 20 miles. Coming back, I felt refreshed knowing I had done the correct thing.
