THE MEANING OF PROVENANCE

Unlike Providence, provenance means the source or origin of something. Just now I satisfied a curiosity I've had on the Jackie Kennedy Estate Auction in 1992. Eleven JFK silver half dollars, presumably, sold for $8,050! The estimate was $200-300!


Who ever put up the money valued the provenance of the coins. Crazy, maybe, huh?
