COMPLEX TUESDAY

My Tuesday was complex in many ways. After my routine breakfast I drove to Ware to Walmart to refill my Prevagen . Got 60 days' worth with my Walmart gift card from Son Ben. The day was sunshine, so I chose to sit in the sun for 20 minutes. Next it was reviewing all of my music cd's and found two I liked: John Denver and Bobby Vinton. Next, I reviewed much of materials I had saved including Alex Trebek's book "The Answer Is." I even have a souvenir postcard from Alex which I cherish. Nighttime saw the Red Sox fall to the Toronto Blue Jays 9-4 It wasn't anything like last night's incredible victory! One more with Toronto tomorrow night. My day was complex and now it's time for bed!

AN UNBELIEVABLE VICTORY FOR THE RED SOX

I was already to pack it up when Toronto surged ahead 6-2. Then the magic of Boston kicked in and won, 7-6. It must be a humbling for the Toronto Blue Jays.  Tomorrow the Blue Jays repeat another visit to Fenway. My entire day was focused on tonight's game. Read the Maine Antique Digest once more with prices realized are surreal. Did fill my bag of "dirty laundry" which Josh promised at some point to pick it up. Also, will have the pine needles removed in my rain gauge. Go Sox!

RED SOX WIN AGAIN!

This Sunday was reassuring the Red Sox are coming back to Fenway Park having won 7 of the last 9 games! Toronto comes into Fenway Park with broadcasters atop the Green Monster. Let's hope the Sox will continue their winning ways! Early in the day Josh came with some "vintage" photos including an early photo of the "Golden Rule Lunch" aka the Poodle along with photos of the 1999 All Star Game. Today's game in Cincinnati was a Boston victory 7-4 over the Reds. I look forward to. my Monday with the hopes the Sox continue their victory over Toronto. GO SOX!

THE RED SOX...VICTORIOUS OVER THE REDS

The Boston Red Sox showed their mettle and a little luck in defeating the Reds 4-3. Today has been muggy with a thunderstorm earlier in the day. I received my first copy of the Maine Antique Digest. Essentially it is a review of auctions, shows and other stuff with prices realized that blew me away.  will keep me abreast of the market per se.  I enjoyed some Jolly Time Popcorn and a Diet Pepsi. Josh called saying Chase Robert was enthused with the POTVIN GOLD sign. My day was complete in getting the mail, reviewing MAD, and relaxing watching the SOX onto victory. Tomorrow I will watch Joel Osteen at 10:00 AM.

THE "STRIKE-OUT SOX"

The Boston Red Sox just didn't have it! It was eventual as the Sox were chasing destiny. Maybe tomorrow when they face the Reds again? Despite the loss my Friday was excellent! Spent $99 at Hannaford NB and enjoyed the help of Dawn. Did watch some of the Celtics celebration in Boston. My visit at the Legion was preempted by a brief visit by Son Josh! Got home just ahead of a serious thunderstorm. Chase Robert called and advised he was taking to his Birch Hill Studio the POTVIN GOLD sign! I told him it was a reward! Keep it in the Potvin family! What more can a grand dad ask for?It has been a long, but good Friday!

WELCOME SUMMER!

"The Heat is on!" Between a wall AC and a high-speed fan my Thursday was different.  was "clean the refrigerator'. I disposed a bag of lingering carrots, passe celery sticks and a bag of spoiled oranges. It is always good to dispose of spoiled foodstuffs. With this in mind I will travel to Hannaford NB with a new list of things to buy. The Celtics celebration parade will be my pleasure. "Good things happen on Friday" so stay tuned!

A SWEEP IN TORONTO!

The Boston Red Sox continue to flex their winning muscles -7-3! Despite the record heat of 91 degrees, I remained cool. The Smithsonian Channel provided an afternoon of U.S. history in review. It was all about the Enola Gay and bombing of Japan. I actually spoke with a man from Japan at Fenway, George Yamamoto, who related the message "The war must stop!" Tonight, the Boston Red Sox swept the Toronto Blue Jays and now head for Cincinnati for a three-game stint with the Reds. Can the Sox continue their winning ways? Juneteenth proved to be a winner for all!

HOT SOX

This Tuesday was hot, damn hot! Other than getting my newspapers after a "short" night's sleep I remained inside the Poodle. The temperature peaked out at 90 degrees. Drank my share of bottled water and followed the Boston news about the Celtics parade on Friday. The Red Sox played a different game of baseball against Toronto. It was nip and tuck the entire game. The Sox went ahead in the eighth inning to capture a victory.4-3. Tomorrow will be another scorcher   Maybe the Hot Sox will sweep Toronto? The Sox are hot like the weather!

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

The Boston Celtics proved they are The Champions by the way they played. The final score was 106-88. The Celtics were ahead the entire game.  I enjoyed watching the game. Now they are the NBA Champs. In Toronto Boston flexed their muscles with homeruns winning 7-3. That's all folks.

AN AMAZING FATHER'S DAY

My Father's Day was truly amazing from the fantastic meal at Ronnie's and Chrissies to the cards and gifts from Ben and Josh. I received a pair of Hey Dudes which I will cherish. The anticipation of the Sox-Yankees game at Fenway was preceded with Jolly Time Popcorn and a Diet Pepsi. The Red Sox flexed their muscles with a 9-3 victory. Now we have the Celtics tomorrow night. Josh did bring home my "clean laundry" for tomorrow. For me, it was a "win - win" around! Thanks, family, for making my Father's Day amazing!

MY COMPLETE SATURDAY

This has been a full Saturday! First Chase Robert drove me to Parsons, EB to pick up my Cadillac Allante'. It felt good to drive my Allante' with new brakes. I prepared a bag of "dirty laundry" for Josh the custodian who did a spiffy job cleaning the Poodle. He even mowed my lawn without me knowing. I was invited to Birch Hill for a wash to my automobile. When arrived there was a fire going in the pit and Miley visited with me. When food was brought to my chair Miley became "close friends." I did enjoy a Fenway Frank before returning home to the Poodle for an evening with the Red Sox versus the Yankees. It was different game with the SOX winning 8-4! Tomorrow, I have been invited to Ronnie Marchessault's for a Father's Day meal. This day proved to be perfect for yours truly!

LOPSIDED DEFEATS FOR BOSTON TEAMS

It was an evening of desperation for both the Red Sox and the Celtics! The Yankees won 8-1 over the Red Sox and the Dallas Mavs won in an incredible defeat of 122-84 over the Celtics. The next game will be at the TD Garden in Boston on Monday. Has the tide turned? Received a call from Parson's Auto the Allante' is ready. Will need a ride to East Brookfield weather permitting. Maybe Chase Robert?  We have two rounds of thunderstorms today. Enough!

CELTICS WIN 106-99

It was an incredible victory for the Boston Celtics! Ahead by 21 points the Mavericks made a good try but not enough. I watched the entire game in anticipation of a Celtics victory... and they did! Today has been long but rewarding. The Red Sox defeated the Phillies 8-6 making the twin bill for Boston fans. Earlier in my Wednesday I received a call from Lily Potvin. It is exciting Lily is headed for Endicott College in Beverley.  It will be great having two grandchildren attending college in the Boston area. Chase Robert at Bentley University. Tomorrow it will buying food at Hannaford NB and picking up my mail. This day was a victory for the Potvin family!

TUESDAY

My Tuesday was normal. I filled 6 days of pills in my Cady. My treat came in watching the video of Olivia Newton-John Live at the Sydney Opera House. This video refreshes my memory of the favorite singer! She performed 27. songs and was as good as it comes. The Sox are losing to the Phillies 4-1 in the 8th. Boston played some sloppy ball plus giving up two home runs. Tomorrow I'll transfer some funds at the NBSB.

INCREDIBLE MONDAY

This Monday saw me get up early so I could drive my red Cadillac Allante' to Parson's Automotive in EB. A close diagnostic of my car's brakes revealed major problems! I was advised to leave the car at the garage to get parts, etc. I am not guessing "how much" and will rely on my Honda in the meantime for transportation. Next it was Hannaford NB for food. $60. After that I watched two videos, Elvis in Hawaii and the Bee Gees. Once more I was inspired by one Celine Dion enough to research her on Wikipedia. Celine has an amazing life being the youngest of 14 children. Chase Robert stopped by with a copy of his grades at Bentley University. His academic Period GPA is 3.88! We had a nice visit indeed! All above tells why my Monday was incredible!

WORCESTER TORNADO JUNE 9, 1953

I always reminisce when the day June 9 comes aboard. Wikipedia has a marvelous story of the tornado that struck killing 94 and injuring 1,298. This year I was impressed in learning Base-ball size hail was reported in many communities.at the time. I was living at 18 South Main, NB at the time and recall dad driving us to see the damage at Assumption College. It was reported ad F-4 on the Fujita scale. In other matters the Red Sox defeated the White Sox 5-4 in 10 innings. Tonight, the Celtics are tied 42-42 with the Mavs in the second half. Tomorrow, I drive the Allante' to Parsons Auto in EB to remedy the left brake problem. No word from Son Ben who is on a cruise with family in Alaska! My Sunday was fulfilling.

MY CUP RUNNETH OVER

It was a very windy day on Birch Hill! The Graduation Ceremony for Lily's class was extensive. Josh picked me up at 9:00 AM and we both commented of never seeing such a big crowd. Pictures were taken on Smartphones. After the Ceremony we returned to the Poodle where Josh helped me in making my bed. I was the first one to arrive. This gave me a perspective of the arriving crowd. Miley-the-dog stole the show and some of my food! The band played a favorite of mine: "Ring of Fire" by Johnny Cash. The display of photographs of Lily's from K-12 caught my eye as did are review of Chase Robert's efforts on his barn studio. A "never forgotten" day for Lily, family and friends. Thanks to Josh, Heidi and Miley!

LONG FRIDAY

It has been a long Friday for me! I stripped my bed of sheets and pillowcase. I traveled to Warren and did my laundry with the help of people there. I was told "you need a walker!" Returning home I tried to make my bed but to no avail. Need Josh's help. Did go to the Legion and forgot my wallet! Shelby was kind and "gave me credit" until next week. I acknowledged scholarships to Jeff Nickerson and Commander Tebo.  Had a cheeseburger deluxe and diet Ginger Ale. The Red Sox are leading the White Sox, 2-1. Tomorrow it will be "all" Lily Potvin. Josh is supposed to pick me up at 9:00 AM. Yes, this Friday was long!

OPTIMISM IN BOSTON

Between the Red Sox and the Celtics, both teams are flexing their muscles! Admitted, I have never watched a Celtics game in many years. The Red Sox are leading the White Sox 8-0, and the Celtics are trouncing the Dallas Mavs by almost 30 points at the Half. It is amazing how games go. This Thursday has been long but not tiring. Josh came by with Miley and a bag full of clean laundry which was pay away. He resolved my problems with my computer mouse! I had tried earlier and didn't find any battery. He came along and "bingo". problem solved. Tomorrow I will go to the laundromat in Warren to clean my sheets and pillowcase. Haven't been there in years. Planning on going to the Legion as usual.  Feels good to be back blogging!

A SUPRISE VISIT FROM STEVE MAGNANTE

My Monday began with a call from friend Steve Magnante! Steve came over to the Poodle and spent an hour catching up of his health and other topics. I feel Steve is about 85% better. It is always a pleasure to see Steve. Then I made an appointment at Parsons Automotive for the repair of my Allante's brakes. Steve gave me some insights on what to expect. I have an appointment for next Monday at 9:00 am. Then it was to Hannaford NB for V/8 and OJ. Tonight, Josh came and mowed my laws and said the lawn "Looks like Fenway Park!" Josh took my trash and "dirty laundry." Today was full and rewarding!

HORROR SOX

I was planning on another victory for the Red Sox. I got excited when R. Devers hit a home run in the eight! Then disaster struck when the Sox had the bases loaded and couldn't perform! It sems nobody had a solution, and the Tigers defeated the Sox 8-4. Not good. I enjoyed watching a documentary on "Basic Training" in the Army. This program evoked so many memories back when I had my training at Ft. Knox. Tonight, a bag of "dirty 'laundry "was prepared for son Josh. My Sunday was good.

JUNE IS HERE!

We couldn't ask for a better first day of June! After my routine of a big breakfast my first charge was getting the Honda washed in NB. The car sparkles. Next it was buying food at Hannaford NB for about $60.00. The sunshine was alluring, and I sat out but found the intensity of the solar caused me to come back inside after 30 minutes. The Red Sox game was spiffy with their yellow shirts. The Sox won 6-3 over the Detroit Tigers. I increased my water consumption and cut back on other snacks. No Jolly Time Popcorn! Changed calendars. A great way to begin the month of June!
