MEMORIAL DAY WEST BROOKFIELD

My Memorial Day was special. I drove my Honda to WBES and was greeted by the parade captain. I was offered to ride in Bob Richards' Jaguar classic. I accepted the offer and carried a small flag..Old Glory. The fife and drum began the march. It was fun riding in an open car as I had planned with the disabled Allante'. We traveled close enough to hear the Patriotic music and beat of the drums.Suddenly the Jaguar boiled steam. He allowed the car to cool off before returning to my Honda.I drove to the American Legion  where I was seated close to the podium. Men read their prepared speeches then we ate. I visited Josh briefly then came home to see the Celtic hype. CNN played a s special on the BEEGEE's which I watched for 10 minutes. I chose not to watch the Celtic-Heat contest. The Memorial Day in West Special was full and special!

TOWN OF NORTH BROOKFIELD CARNIVAL ON THE COMMON

There's an immense, colorful carnival set up on the town common and playground! The perfect weather lends itself for families  to bring the kids, old and like, for some cotton candy, pitch-' til- you -win, and a ride on the Ferris wheel or hobby horses. Seeing this big enterprise was reminiscent of the carnival back up in the 50's. Don't miss it!

MY HOLIDAY SATURDAY

This Saturday unfolded with the usual: newspaper, food at Hannaford, watch a special on Vietnam,  the Yankees victorious over San Diego then a trip to East Brookfield looking for my

disabled Allante'. It was missing from the town common. No luck at Parsons? The car must be inside? I drove by the Potvins on Birch Hill looking at the new flag. I ended up "crashing" a campfire and remained for over one hour as the music played on the new speaker. Evie roasted some hot dogs. A surprise Saturday indeed. Nadon bailed hay under the brilliant sunshine.

ALLANTE' CAR PROBLEMS

My Allante' is left on the town common! The WB Police have been notified and Parsons Auto has been instructed to remove it asap. The car turns over and son Josh thinks it is fuel pump problems. In other maters Josh & Heidi have a new flag flying for the holiday. I will modify my plans for the Memorial Day Parade in WB. Such is life!

MY HERO: JOSHUA BYRON POTVIN

As I age I have become more and more dependent on my son Josh. From doing my laundry to washing the Poodle's floors to taking me to the VA doctor, Josh comes to the fore. He subsidizes my living quarters. Josh mows my lawn  and shovels the winter's snow. Josh and Heidi have given me Chase, Lily, Maddie and Evie  four superstar grandchildren. It is with profound appreciation do I say thank you, Son!
