INCREDIBLE MONDAY IN LATE JUNE

This Monday has been incredible! It started at the VA in Worcester where a very sensitive lady at the pharmacy took time to refill some 9 prescriptions. It took some time and patience of Son Josh. Later in the day Chase Robert visited sharing his visit to Denver. He presented me with a Sigma Chai medal and a Denver magnet! We chatted about the Red Sox's game tonight. It has been a `13-6 victory for Boston!  Tomorrow, I plan on going to Hannaford NB for a modest refill.  Gold was bid at $3,299.20. Don't forget to change your calendars to July 2025! I did.

THE INSPIRATION OF JOEL OSTEEN'S MESSAGE

I like watching Joel Osteen every Sunday on Daystar! Today's message had to do with our attitude when we wake up. We control our emotions. Is the glass full or half empty? I will employ Joel's message from then on. Today's Red Sox was another story. Unlike yesterday's victory today saw Boston fall to Toronto 5-3. Josh came by with Miley and took my Trash & "dirty" laundry. He agreed to give me a haircut, so I drove the Allante' Birch Hill. It was a pleasant setting. Chase Robert was landing at Logan about 7:30 PM. I look forward to hearing his Denver story, Tomorrow Josh has agreed to take me to the VA in Worcester to pick up 2 prescriptions. As I sit here typing I look out and see the waxing moon. Tomorrow will be the last day of June: get ready for JULY!

RED SOX SATURDAY

It was one of the best games of the 2025 season for the Boston Red Sox! The team started early and went the extra mile to end up with a 15-1 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays. The victory is just what the doctor ordered. Tomorrow we'll see the final game. Connected with Josh who was in New Hampshire with Evie. Josh agreed to give me a haircut at his Birch Hill residence.  Tomorrow. I plan on watching Joel Osteen at 10:00 on Daystar. This Saturday is proving to be the best in a long time!

DISAPPOINTING FRIDAY

My Friday was full of disappointments. from not going to the Worcester VA to pick up my meds to seeing the Red Sox lose to Toronto 9-0 this day hasn't been fun. My visit to Hannaford NB proved to be satisfying with the total purchase coming to $115.82. I did go to the Legion and was amazed to see the crowd of youth enjoying this Friday. Jeff Nickerson was working on Neil's scooter as Carol Slater visited with me. I had two hot dogs and Ginger Ale on ice. The price of Gold was bid at $3,283.30.

ACTION ON THE HOMEFRONT WITH THE VA

Early on this Thursday I received a phone call from the Worcester VA advising two medications could be picked up. Also, an appointment has been set for July 17th to see Johnathan Ghione. I advised Josh who was on his way with Chase Robert to fly to Denver from Logan. My weight came in at 147.6 lbs. which is okay. Tonight, I have been watching the NY Mets play the Atlanta. Braves. The Mets are ahead 2-0 in the Seventh. Tomorrow morning I'll go to Hannaford NB for foodstuffs. In the afternoon Josh may bring me to the Worcester VA to pick up the 2 medications. Gold was bid at $3,333.50.

MY VA PILL CADY RENEWED

It was early in the day when Josh returned my clean laundry. I told Josh of my dilemma of not having pills renewed. He insisted I call and speak to an agent which I did. It was a VA rep from Texas who reviewed my entire list and assured me they would be filled or alerting the doctors of my needs. It gave me solace knowing my situation would be resolved. Fast forward to Chase Robert visiting me as the Sox-Angles game came on at 4:00PM. We had a great visit of his forthcoming trip to Denver. Boston as beaten by the Angels 5-2! Tomorrow will be a day off before returning to Fenway for contests against the Blue Jays on Friday. The heat continues. I decided not to check on the Concerts on the Common. Then about 8:00 PM the rain began.  My rain gauge registers 0.1 inches. Tomorrow, I'll weigh myself. The price of Gold was bid at $3,327.60.

RECORD TEMPERATURES IN LATE JUNE

For some folk's today's record temperature of 101 degrees had meaning. For me it was HOT! I managed to endure the heat by drinking bottles of water and enjoying some Raspberry Ice Cream from Friendly's. Seems this is the only resolve to "beat the heat1" Before I forget, tomorrow's Concerts   ON THE COMMON will feature DISCO LEMONADE.  The common was being mowed as I drove by with my newspapers. Chase Robert called advising me of his forthcoming trip to Denver, The Rockies have a horrible record of 18-60 and are 29.5 games behind. Tomorrow Chase will call and visit with me after 5:00 PM. Tonight, I stayed up to see the Red Sox - Angels game. The Sox best pitcher is hurling G. Crochet. Josh came by earlier with Miley. Josh loves this record heat; I do not!

"US BOMBS IRAN, TROOPS ON HIGH ALERT"

This headline in today's USA TODAY evokes many memories for me! Right away I began thinking about my tour of duty in Vietnam 1967-1968. I began researching Quatar and still don't know much about it. Methinks oil is one reason why Trump has acted. The other Monday news is the extreme heat. I was wearing black trousers and black knee socks when I heard it was time to change into Bermuda shorts and no socks. I have increased my consumption of water. Another secret id to REXAX! Received a call from Evie Potvin acknowledging receipt of my note, and cash donation. Evie is my Little Spitfire who goes to QRHS this Fall. The Red Sox play in Anaheim at 9:38 PM.  Should prove to be interesting after the debacle in San Francisco with the Giants. No Devers tonight! Gold is one to be watched. Earlier today it was bid @ $3,7676.30. Time to retreat to my AC in the kitchen.

MY SUNDAY WITH DEFINITION

This Sunday was defined by the ongoing heat. It was a Sunday with more anticipation of the Boston Red Sox winning only to fall to the Giants 9-5. Seems the Sox lost their handle on what a victory means. The Manager and a player were ejected. Then as this Sunday went along Josh & Miley came by for removal of my trash, taking my "Dirty" laundry and mowing my lawn! Josh admits he "loves" the heat. I don't. Tonight, I have been watching the NY Mets versus The Philadelphia Phillies who are leading 7-0 in the Eight. I treated myself to some Friendly Black Raspberry Ice Cream for the first time. Seems my daily diet of ice cream will continue!

THE LONGEST DAY OF THE YEAR

It has been a perfect day for yours truly! My day was planned by traveling to Hannaford NB where I loaded up of everything. My total purchase came to $121.80. Upon return Josh invited me to Birch Hill where we enjoyed snacks, a Ginge Ale and each other's company. I drove the Allante' and knew the Red Sox game versus the Giants was on our minds. I came back to my air-conditioned Poodle and languished in their 3-2 defeat. Devers-had a 2-run home run, Chase-Robert was met as I was returning home. Tomorrow, I plan on watching Joel Osteen on Daystar at 10:00 AM. As I write at 9:30 PM I can hear the thunder of fireworks somewhere in town? The Red Sox have one more contest against the Giants tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully Boston will show them their true color- RED!

WELCOME SUMMER 2025

It was hot and windy. Pete Bouchard reported he Worcester Airport had a gust of 53mph. The focus of this June day was enjoying it. I chose to drive the Allante' to the Legion for Mazzarella Sticks and fries. Josh was busy with Evie so he couldn't oblige. Earlier in the afternoon I called for my mail at 01585. Debbie delivered with a Father's Day Card & gift from Son Ben & family. Tonight, it was the Orioles defeating the Yankees 5-3. I had decided to stay up to watch the First Inning of Boston versus the Giants. R. Devers wears #16. Tomorrow I'll go to Hannaford NB to replenish my usual foodstuffs. All in all, this Friday was complete.

JUNE HEAT 2025

This is not my favorite type of Sumer weather! I was going to take the Allante' out for a spin when I was hit with heat! I had left my phone inside and found it telling me this heat is not for me. Temperatures reached the high eighties. I felt my AC was more alluring, so I've stayed inside. My memories of growing up in North Brookfield when all we had was an oscillating fan. My first AC came while living on King Street, NB, and since then AC is part of summer living. My Birch Hill home had central AC but was not efficient. Today AC is a way of life. in my home and in my Honda. Josh lives this heat; I don't. The Summer weather patten will be with us for a while. The price of Gold was bid today at $3,384.30.

RED SOX WEDNESDAY

It was a day game televised from Seattle. I enjoyed watching the Red Sox perform as they should! The victory of 3-1 Boston paves the way for Friday's visit to R. Devers in San Francisco. I drove the Allante' to town to check out the attendance of the Concert. The skies cleared and the attendance was good. Josh surprised me with a visit to pick up the trash and put some adhesive on the rear-view on the driver's door. Tomorrow, I will weigh myself. Gold was bid at $3,412.30.

AN IMPORTANT TUESDAY

Today began with a call from Josh inviting me to Evie's graduation at WBES. I wasn't prepared so I passed. The truth of the matter is Evie Potvin received 4 honors and is on her way to Quaboag in the Fall. A note will be sent to Evie with a cash donation. No question she'll continue to be exceptional in all she does. My trip to Hannaford NB was nominal with purchases of $42.21 with the Senior Discount of 5%. Late Red Sox victory of 2-0 in Seattle was another reason to be important. I watched the game inn Two this afternoon. The price of Gold was bid at $3,410.20. Another late night for the Sox versus Seattle 9:40 PM. No plans to watch.

WEST COAST RED SOX AT SEATTLE

The mix has changed for the Red Sox! Tonight's game will begin at 9:40 PM and can be seen on NESN. I don't plan on watching. The big news in Red Sox circles is the trade of Rafael Devers to the San Francisco. While it is upsetting to me and most of the Red Sox Nation I am reminded more than 100 years ago East Brookfield's Connie Mack sold players to remain solvent. Money has always been the name of the game. Today is no different. This Monday saw brilliant sunshine. I sat out for 3/4 hour. Josh came by with my clean laundry and we discussed the Devers trade. I think everyone is upset. My hope is the younger players will respond in a positive manner! Gold was bid at $3,436.80. Tomorrow I will go to Hannaford NB for several necessities.

FATHER'S DAY 2025

My Father's Day was spectacular! Josh came by early and made my Father's Day spectacular! Everything was performed in a special way. Vacuumed, washed the floors, mowed the lawn all done in the spirit of making me feel special. I drove the Allante' to Ron & Chrissies and was greeted by Heidi, Lily and Evie, Maddie &Chase Robert were working. The Red Sox - Yankees game added to the anticipation with the Sox sweeping the Yankees 2-0. I was given a Red Sox golf shirt. The meal too was spectacular. Ron & Chris always makes Pops feel at home. Son Ben called earlier as I was driving to the Marchessault's.  In every way my Father's Day 2025 had meaning and purpose!

RED SOX SATURDAY!!

My entire Saturday was predicated on how the Sox were going to perform against the Yankees. Well, the Sox won the game 4-3!!Tomorrow is Father's Day and is a day of reflection and enjoyment.  Years ago, while writing for the New Leader my entry has a headline of "Remembering Dad on his day.' It is a history of my dad's life. Tomorrow I'll celebrate my day with sons Josh, Ben and Chase Robert. I have been invited to Ron & Chrissies for lunch at 1: 00.PM In the morning I plan on watching Joel Osteen at 10:00 AM on Daystar.  The final game with the Yankees is an afternoon game at 1:00 PM on NESN. Maybe the Sox will sweep the Bronx Bombers? HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

RED SOX FRIDAY!

Seems the Boston Red Sox are doing everything right to win! Aaron Judge's 9th Inning Home Run tied the game at 1-1 bringing the game into extra innings. The ghost runner set the stage, and two controversial calls favored Boston. In a dramatic 10th inning finish the Boston Red Sox defeated the New Yankees again 2-1!! My Friday saw me drive the Allante' to Hannaford NB where I spent $148.26. Everything was placed in the trunk. My Honda has been redlined. Josh came by taking the "dirty" laundry and trash Plus he corrected my frustrations in allowing me to post on Blogger.com. The Legion was good seeing Carol Slater talk about her broken molar. Once again, I enjoyed driving the Allante' The price of Gold was bid at $3,453.20. Tomorrow it will be another game between the Sox & Yankees.  Happy Friday the 13th!

RED SOX WIN 4-3

A RED SOX victory makes this Wednesday special! Today's focus has been on the Concerts on the Common. After posting my blog about the concerts I drove the Allante' around town three times. I observed the makeup of how things would progress. First was the yellow popcorn building. As the day progressed, I returned to see how the crowd built up. It was a perfect June day assuring the crowd would build up. It did indeed. A perfect Wednesday in every way. Tonight, the Red Sox showed their prowess in holding back The Tamps Bay Rays with a 4-3 victory. Now, with tomorrow off Fenway Park will welcome the New York Yankees for three games on the weekend. Stay tines.

RELAXING TUESDAY

Today has been relaxing for me! After getting my newspapers Josh had returned my "clean" laundry which was put away. One way contributing to my relaxing was watching Olivia Newton-John at the Sydney Opera House. She is my favorite singing Xanadu and Hopelessly Devoting to You. Tonight's Red Sox gave versus Tampa Bay was also relaxing. The Sox held the Rays to 3 hits winning 3-1. I know Chase Robert will be pleased with the results as I am.! Maybe the Sox can repeat this victory tomorrow?

AN AMAZING SUNDAY

This Sunday in June seemed to have everything come together! Hannaford NB saw me stock up with foodstuffs totaling $87.22. The anticipation of the Red Sox - Yankee game saw me pre-empt the game by Josh volunteering to wash my Allante' at his home on Birch Hill. The car sparkles! Then he mowed my lawn at the Poodle. Tonight's Red Sox - Yankee game has been a Home Run fest. A. Judge had two home runs and Devers the Sox defeated the Yankees 11-7.  Today is Savannah H. Potvin's 11th birthday. I have sent Savvy a note and a cash donation.

RED SOX VICTORY OVER YANKEES!

This was an important victory for the Boston Red Sox. Garrett Cochet was in good stead and Boston kept the lead all of the game. The final score was Boston 10 and New York 7.  Much of today was rainy. It cleared by sunset. I'm low on my Advil Liquid Gels so I may go to Hannaford NB tomorrow? Called Josh but no return today. I have a bag of trash and "dirty" laundry to be picked up.

YANKEES GO HOME!

Another very long day. It was transitional from yesterday's heat. Today was cloudy and eventually saw a thunderstorm and .11 inches of rain as measured on my gauge. Today's Legion visit was different. I enjoyed six Mazzarella Sticks and a cold drink on ice. Jeff Nickerson didn't stay long, and Carol Slater visited with me in a usual manner.  The Red Sox just lost to the Yankees 9-6. R. Devers had another home run! Gold was bid at $3,369.50.

EXTREME HEAT OF JUNE 5, 2025

Today's temperature reached 92 degrees in West Brookfield! It slowed everybody down to a crawl. My weight came in at 147+lbs. Steady. After lunch I called the WB Post Office alerting the "Lady with the Red Hair" I wanted to pick up my mail. She delivered it to me in my Honda which is air conditioned. This weekly schedule of pick-up works for me. Thursday MLB Baseball saw the Dodgers defeat the Mets then tonight, it has been the Yankees versus the Guardians. The Yanks are leading 4-0 in the Ninth. Tomorrow, I plan on going to the Legion for my usual Friday visit. No idea what I'll have to eat? Placed a call to Josh but didn't hear back. The price of Gold was bid at $3,405.20.  My Air Conditioner will remain all night!

RED SOX WEDNESDAY

The highlight on this day came when the Boston Red Sox hit a Walk-Off homer in the Ninth Inning. It was a nip and tuck game all the way until the Ninth Inning when a home run hit the Pesky Pole declaring victory against the Angels 11-9! This victory leaves a good taste in the mouths of Red Sox fans who are headed to New York for Friday night's game against the Bronx Bombers and #99 Aaron Judge. With all the news about Tornados I am reminded of the Worcester, Mass. Tornado of June 9, 1953, in which 94 people were killed. According to my research on Wikipedia the Tornado lasted 76 minutes. I was ten at the time and have memories of traveling to see the aftermath with family. I took the   Allante' out for a 10-mile spin after speaking with Josh. It was too nice of a day to stay inside.  Gold was bid at $3,3382.60. Tomorrow, I'll weigh myself. as it will be Thursday and enjoy the comfort of Air Conditioning.

AN IMPORTANT TUESDAY

This Tuesday had many facets for me! The first one was going to Hannaford NB for food. The total purchase came to $122.35 with the Senior Discount of $6.28. Sat out in the strong sunshine but had better plans: Visit Lily P at the Clam Box in its new location in EB. Drove the Cadillac Allante' enjoying some Sea Scallops and a Diet Pepsi. Came back to a brief visit by Josh then settled down to another Red Sox-Angle game. The Sox lost in ten innings 4-3. Gold was bid at $3,370.60.  My Tuesday proved to be complete!

MANIC MONDAY

This Monday has been long! It all began with doing banking and fetching the two newspapers. All day long I thought of driving the Allante' and I did. Josh invited me to Birch Hill where I was hopeful of getting the car washed but it wasn't in the cards. Did bring some Milk Bone treats for Miley. Chase Robert called later in the day recounting his new job at Country Bank. We were hopeful the Red Sox would prevail over the Angels, but they didn't. The Sox fell flat in the 1st Inning giving up 3 home runs and falling behind 6-0. The Sox struggled losing scoring opportunities with a final score of 7-6. Former Red Sox reliever, Kenley Jansen, closed out the game. I Like Jansen for his unique delivery. The price of Gold keeps going up with a bid of $3,389.60. Tomorrow I may go to Hannaford NB taking a new look at my food supply!

SATISFYING SUNDAY JUNE 1, 2025

Thia first day of June 2025, was satisfying to me especially with the Boston Red Sox prevailing over the Alanta Braves 3-1! Before that as I went to get the Sunday Times I was amazed to witness a large tree had fallen on the WB Town Common. It appeared to have sustained decay. I don't know if wind, lightening or both was the cause? Being Sunday, I don't know if it has been removed? In speaking with Son Ben, I learned the meaning of Juneteenth! Now I know. It is a Federal Holiday commemorating the freeing of Slaves by President A. Lincoln in 1865! I will do banking tomorrow and cheer the Red Sox who will be back at Fenway. Josh came by with Miley and picked up my trash and "Dirty" laundry Cool weather prevails until mid-week they it will be great weather for AC!
