The highlight of my Wednesday came when R. Devers launched a double to bring home the winning run! Seemed nothing went right... my rain gauge didn't record the torrential down pours in a thunder & lightening storm. The trip to the Worcester VA was disappointing. Dr. Sanjay referred me to a dermatologist which will require another visit in the VA. Tomorrow, Son Ben & Family arrives around 4-5 PM. Welcome home Son!

This Tuesday was busy for me! After getting the newspapers I journeyed to NB for food at Hannaford. On this day I ran into Pat Potter, a loyal reader along with husband Frank. Spent the afternoon watching the Olympics from Paris. I did wear my spiffy new Endicott shirt which led me to visiting the Clam Box and seeing Lily P who appreciated me wearing the new shirt. I had the usual meal. The red Allante' was driven as the day was sunshine & hot. Upon returning home it was filling 8 days of pills in my Cady. Tonight is a different story with the Sox trailing Seattle 7-3! Tomorrow Josh takes me to see doctor Sanjay at the VA in Worcester. Son Ben & family arrives Thursday afternoon. That's it!

For a Monday my birthday celebration was found on Birch Hill. Josh invited me over to be with my grandchildren. Chase Robert,. Lily, Maddie, and Evie. Yes, Miley was there to celebrate. We enjoyed a cheesecake meal and generous gifts including a gift certificate for The Salem Cross Inn and a spiffy Endicott shirt which I'll wear tomorrow. Heidi called as did Sister Jan. Paid Josh my rent. As for the Red Sox-Mariners game.. the Sox are leading 10-1! Tomorrow I'll go to Hannaford NB for some food and maybe will travel to The Clam Box seeing Lily P is working. This 82nd birthday was truly wonderful!

I'm glad to see the New York Yankees leaving Boston. It was a disappointing third game. But why? The losses affect the Red Sox spirit. A 8-2 loss puts me disappointed. Today was interesting watching the Olympics from Paris. I have in mind my granddaughter Savvy in mind as maybe someday she'll be competing in the Olympics? Son Ben & family will be coming to West Brookfield on August 1st. for a vacation. So I'll close with the headline: YANKEES GO HOME!

Today has been another long day! It started with Josh picking me up for the Bay State Coin Show. Chase Robert came along. The coin show was was big and I maneuvered with the use of a Seton Hall chair Josh brought. Didn't see any coins that met my fancy. Put away my clean laundry. Later I took my Honda for air in the tires. Today's Red Sox Yankees game went to extra innings and the Sox lost! A real bummer! It would be a Saturday to forget!

It has been a complete Friday for me. I did my duties including getting the mail in my Cadillac Allante'. I decided visiting Josh after going to the Legion for a cheeseburger deluxe. Jeff Nickerson visited with me as did Carol Slater. Josh's visit was good as he confirmed his taking me to the Bay State Coin Show in the morning. The visit should be good. Tonight's Red Sox game versus the Yankees was a winner for the Red Sox 9-7!

My Thursday was a good one! Enjoyed seeing sister Jan and Ray and the fried clams and fries at the Clam Box, too, were good. I watched a no-hitter delivered by San against the Nationals. This, in itself, made my day. For old coin enthusiasts the Bay State Coin Show is going on from today, tomorrow and Saturday. The appointment of Kamala Harris brings about changes in the ensuing time will give both challenges worthy of the time. My vote is for both Biden and Harris!

This Monday saw me accomplish many things. First was getting the two newspapers: New York Times and USA TODAY for headlines. I saved the two papers for reference as things may chance? Next, I filled 9 days of pills in my Cady. The next news came when I discovered on Facebook a picture of "Johnson" who has been in the hospital in Leominster since July 14th, No details. For years Dick Johnson came to the Poodle with destinations unknown. traveled up Coy Hill in his yellow Hummer then later it was to the Casinos Josh called today asking me if I wanted to visit him in the hospital? I said yes! Today's Maine Antique Digest for August arrived which I reviewed. I The Red Sox - Rockies game coming on and I have no interest in watching!

Eleven innings.. almost a victory but it just wasn't in the cards for the SOX! This Saturday was spent doing things like patrolling around West Brookfield in the Allante'. I drove 10 miles and enjoyed it. Riding around the back roads gave me a perspective I otherwise know. Didn't see any Trump signs. I sat out in the sunshine on my office open door with the sun shining on my back. Josh suggested this. Tomorrow is Sunday with the Hall of Fame ceremonies beginning at 11:30. Before that will be Joel Osteen at 10:00. Tomorrow's another day and maybe the Red Sox will get lucky in Los Angeles?

My Friday has been perfect like the sunshine of the day. Did food shopping at Hannaford NB. Nothing special. Josh came by mid afternoon and mounted my new flag and mowed my lawn. and it was going to the Legion in the red Cadillac Alante' which I enjoyed. The attendance was slight. Did talk with one Carol Slater. There were Trump flag waving supporters on the Common. Tonight I stayed up to witness the Sox in LA. No score after 3 innings .That's my story for s perfect Friday.

In watching the Republican Convention for the past four nights I have come to the conclusion this convention was a masterpiece! The flourishing of the Red White & Blue in every since of the word for the best to show what America really is: Patriotism! I enjoyed seeing what Trump's efforts were revealed. Tonight, President Trump's delivery in speaking seemed to be slower yet his determination hasn't changed. The spirit of Americanism is riding high and I am glad to be a part of it! God bless the USA!

I have been watching the Republican Convention tonight and come away with a deep sense of patriotism on my part! I reflect on being a Vietnam Veteran and recall my loving mother's comment" If you can go to St. Louis you can serve your country!" Mother Rita was a patriot therefore I am a patriot! This Republican Convention is stirring my soul. All of the speakers are making sense however I will wait to hear what the Democrats say in defense! I am an Independent .. so equal time. This convention is a revelation of the American Spirit!

This Tuesday was complex. After getting the usual newspapers getting the mail was in order. My Spectrum will was around $245 and the VA bill for prescriptions was $69.The heat was intense soaring beyond 90 degrees. The double-actioned afternoon was spent in anticipation of the All Star Game and the Republican Convention. Spoke with Josh briefly and switched channels between baseball and politics. As the evening progressed a storm began at 7:51 pm but didn't materialized. I was particularly interested in seeing how President Trump appeared with his partner J.D. Vance. All of the speakers demonstrated public speaking prowess. Nikki Haley seemed conciliatory with her praise of Trump. The All Star game was another story. Todays, uniforms seemed out of place! After 5 innings the American League was leading 5-3. Today was full to say the least!

This Monday was dedicated to two things: The Republican National Convention and the ESPN Homerun Derby. I watch the RNC closely not knowing who the nominee would be? It was a great surprise to learn J.D. Vance was chosen! This choice caught many off guard. . J.D. Vance In young: 8:2: 1984 and is a Marine vet. You can log onto Wikipedia for an in-depth biography. In other matters Josh came by to pick up my trash and "dirty" laundry. Josh advised 'Lily was working" so I scooted off to the Clam Box. Chase Robert called advising me Mom & Dad & Evie were heading for Fenway Park. The anticipation was real as the game would be defining who would prevail. I watched the game intensely seeing who would win.. Boston or Kansas City? A crowd of 35,351 fans cheered Devers slamming another home run along with Kenley Jansen closing the door in the final two innings. Haven't heard from Chase Robert yet of a wonderful day in Boston.?

Today's victory over the Kansas City Royals 5-0 was reassuring of the Sox's come back ability. The game was all Boston with 12 hits and held the Royals to 4. Tomorrow's game should be defining before the All Star break. Keep it up Boston!

The events that took place in Butler. PA this afternoon evokes my memories of President Lyndon Johnson's visit to Saint Louis University on February 14, l964. This was the first public appearance since the assassination of JFK on November 22, 1963. When I realized how important this visit would be I was the FIRST in attendance. The crowd swelled as did security. We had to leave our dormitory rooms. What impressed me were men standing atop buildings with armed rifles. I have a photo of LBJ shaking my hand surrounding by Secret Service Men! Today raises the question of just how safe are political candidates? The events at Butler, PA raises the question just how safe are candidates? Photographs of a blood riddled President Trump's head will forever chance how we feel about Trump and his followers. It is time for Americans to wake up!

I had high hopes of seeing the Red Sox but Kansas City prevailed in a big way. My Friday was interesting. Josh gave Pops a haircut at his home on Birch Hill. Chase and Evie were home along with Miley. I traveled to the Legion a bit early and enjoyed 2 hot dogs and a ginger ale. Carol Slater joined me along with a discussion on politics. This Friday was disappointing to ssay the least.

The Boston Red Sox demonstrated their strength with a 7-0 victory over the Oakland A's. The day was hot as I went about my chores...plus obtaining newspapers and getting the mail. Didn't get any mail on Gold. Did travel to Hannaford NB for an abbreviated purchase. Once back the news was the forthcoming news conference of president Biden caught my curiosity. Biden mentioned traveling to the LBJ Library. In turn I'm sending a complete listing of Johnson's accomplishments! I have always been a fan of LBJ and am not ashamed of this fact. My Thursday was complete so now I look to a Friday with optimism!

This Wednesday had high hopes for the Red Sox and fell short 5-2. I enjoyed seeing the ladies at Country Corner! This day saw me taking care of clean laundry. The heat prevailed and I decided to take the Allante' to Birch Hill and didn't find anybody home. Josh called volunteering a haircut for me at his home. Tonight's defeat by Oakland leaves me saying "Maybe tomorrow? I'll go Hannaford NB tomorrow for food. That's all folks!

It was an amazing victory for the Red Sox.12-9 over the A's. Hits galore by both clubs. Never did I think the game would end up with such high numbers. Today was long just waiting for the game. Earlier in my day Josh came by twice. First to take my trash and second to deliver "clean" laundry. This time he brought Miley who is always a hit. Tomorrow I want to get balances on my account at NBSB then I'll put away the laundry. This Red Sox victory amazes me.

My Monday began with another visit from Steve Magnante! Steve appears to be over 90% improved. We spoke about many things including his future with Barrett-Jackson Auctions. Steve related he may return in the Fall in a modified version? My National-grid monthly bill was much less than expected. With my consumption of an AC going 20 hours a day and a high speed fan going I thought maybe $500? Sorry. My bill was $83.17! Today I received 8 spiffy Presidential Dollars from Littleton Coin Co. They compliment my collection of National Park Commemorative Quarters.. Despite the 90 degree temperatures I have kept comfortably cool!

It was a masterpiece for the Red Sox at Yankee Stadium. R. Devers spoke hitting two home runs. The Yankees were held to 4 hits. I enjoyed watching the game on ESPN but my day was large. After my usual routine at breakfast I traveled to Hannaford NB and spent one hundred bucks. Of importance was a copy of the Celtics year book for Evie. None bigger fan than Evie. It was a wonderful Sunday all around and I'm glad to take part in it!

It was an amazing defeat for Red Sox fans! Nobody could predict this loss after last night's amazing victory! I saw this Saturday with a power loss requiring Son Josh to my rescue booting up my computer along with taking my "dirty" laundry back to Birch Hill. As far as the Yankees- Boston goes, the world can watch the contest from Yankee Stadium on ESPN! Maybe the Re Sox can regain their composure onto a victory? We were an out from a defeat by the Yankees when a miracle happened at Yankee Stadium: The Red Sox tied the game in the 10th inning then went on to win by a home run by Yashida :5-3 I do believe all Yankee fans are in shock! Tomorrow's game between the Sox and Yanks is at one and can be seen on NESN. Everything this Friday is lackluster from filling my pill cady to preparing a bag of "dirty" laundry to going to the Legion. President Biden's speech in Wisconsin has awakened the soul of America. In retrospect my 4th of July has been truly amazing! As I sit here writing my blog I can hear fireworks in a distance. Never before do I recall this experience in WB. The first victory came with the Sox defeating the Marlins 6-5 in 11innings. Drove to Birch Hill to Josh's in my Allante' not knowing to expect. Rain or not we enjoyed a campfire and visiting friends. The topic was about presidential politics. Came home to watch Yankee Doodle Dandy which further inspired my patriotic spirit. After watching the movie, I settled in to watching A Capitol Fourth on PBS. Tonight's fireworks continue in WB. A wonderful Fourth of July for yours truly! "We Are Family!" Tomorrow night in the Bronx we face the New York Yankees. Go Sox!

The highlight of this Wednesday is the Red Sox showing what it is to win! Their victory over the Marlins shows Bello pitched a good game 7-2. Tomorrow the final game will be at 1:00 PM on the Fourth of July then it will be off to New York and the Yankees. My day at Hannaford NB drew attraction with my Patriotic outfit. Did drive the Allante' to Birch Hill. Evie and Miley were the only two around. Josh, too, was gone to Hannaford in Heidi's jeep. I did meet him on my way home. "Chase Robert was on the lake in the family boat. Tomorrow is the day we've all been waiting for: The Fourth of July! I will return to Birch Hill not knowing what's in store. My Tuesday was full of surprises! I was eager to see if my monthly stipends were posted at NBSB and they were. This deposit gives me strength at a time when others rely on card charges. Not me! I sat out in the blazing sunshine for about 20 minutes before deciding if I would go to The Clam Box. I did and saw Lily Potvin! My order was for scallops and fries. Lily was all smiles. Listening to patriotic music on channel 1941 further beefed my patriotic flair only to be increased with the Red Sox victory over the Marlins 8-3. My Tuesday was a winner all the way around. Tomorrow I must travel to Hannaford NB for some food and hopeful cards to celebrate our Independence.
