PAYDAY FRIDAY

This Friday saw me do my banking at North Brookfield Savings Bank after my routine. It was a relaxing day for me as I sat out in the sunshine for closely to an hour then retreating to YouTube where I watched the history of Mercdes Benz. I did own a 240D and drove it 242,000 miles! Frank Cooke advised me "This car has been good to you so fix it and fix it again!" My second Benz, a red one lasted only 20,000 before selling it, as Ben and Josh were in college. No fancy cars until my Cadillac Allante' which I have owned 2! Now I am faced with repairs to the left front brakes. Tonight, I was at the Legion for 2 hot dogs and a Ginger Ale. Tomorrow, I go to NB for a card for Lily and a wash job for the Honda. The Sox are tied 1-1 with the Tigers in the 4th inning. My Friday is complete!

PATIENCE.PATIENCE.PATIENCE

It sems the more incompetent I get. The more impatience Josh gets with Pops! Maybe it has always been that way? Anyway, this Tuesday has been more of a letdown. Did get an overflow of mail from the Post Office.  Watch my share of television in anticipation of another Red Sox-Orioles game on NESN at 6:30. Hopefully the Sox will come back with a victory? Tomorrow, I bring the Honda to Parsons EB at 9:00 AM to resolve my wiggling left tailpipe and oil leak.

JUNE IS AROUND THE CORNER

Everything is flourishing in the Brookfields. Grass is being mowed and the flowers are speaking beauty. My absence in blogging has many reasons mainly "I'm an old man!" Hopefully I can regain my self-confidence. All my Grandchildren Chase, Lily, Maddie, Evie, and Savvy continue to be "leading their fields". It is with profound pride I write the kids. Tomorrow is another day

RED SOX MONDAY

This Monday goes to the Boston Red Sox! The team defeated Tampa Bay 5-0 and held them to two paltry hits. The big news was Rafeal Devers hitting a home run setting the team records of 6 home runs! It seems the Sox have regained composure with two consecutive victories. one in St. Louis and tonight's. My Monday saw routine activities. I did go to Hannaford NB for a birthday card for Son Ben who will turn 52 on May 30th!  I wrapped up my study on BOBBY VINTON who is having an amazing career. Bobby's songs are tantamount in my opinion. Josh called earlier. Now I must decide if I want to stay up to see Norah O'Connell interview with Pope Francis.? My Monday continues!

CLEARING WEATHER AHEAD

This Sunday was cloudy and uncertain. After scanning The Sunday New York Times I prepared a bag of dirty laundry and trash for Josh to pick up. I was intrigued by 60 Minutes program featuring Norah O'Donnell's visit with the Pope! The interview was at the Vatican where the Pope's response was in Spanish through an interpreter. Interesting. Next, I found the life of Bobby Vinton interesting through the Wikipedia search. I grew up with Bobby's music from "MR. Lonely" to "Coming Home Soldier!" Vinton is one talented person! Check him out! Now we begin thinking about Memorial Day weekend! Ready?

PRODUCTIVE SATURDAY

The rain didn't stop me from being productive! My first charge was to replenish pills in my cady for 7days.Earlier, I was impressed by all of the white tents on the Town Common enduring the festivities of the Asparagus Festival. At the end of the day, I drive back in amazement ALL OF THE TENTS WERE GONE except for a yellow one. Spoke with Josh who advised "Lily was working at The Clam Box." I decided to return for my usual meal of fried belly clams and a Diet Pepsi. Lily was pleasant as usual. Tonight, the Sox were playing the Cardinals in a 1-1 tie in the seventh inning. Tomorrow it will be Joel Osteen at 10:00 AM. This rainy Saturday was, indeed, pleasant!

MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS!

The Red Sox playing in St. Louis against the Cardinals evokes memories going back to 1962.It was there I arrived after a 33-hour Greyhound bus ride from Worcester did I began my life's journey. St. Louis has always meant baseball. Memories of World Series. l964, 1968 and 1987 takes me down my Memorie Lane. Today was long with going to Hannaford NB for food. not a big purchase says $53.00. Later in this Friday saw me travel to 53 Birch Hill at the invitation of Josh. I presented Maddie with a cash gift for her Confirmation. From there I traveled to the Legion where I enjoyed two hot dogs instead of my usual cheeseburger. Visits from Carol Slater and Jeff Nickerson rounded up my Friday. Tonight, the Red Sox play the Cardinals and trail the Cardinals 4-3 in the fifth. My day is done!

THURSDAY, THURSDAY, THURSDAY

MY Thursday proved to be interesting. After doing my banking at the North Brookfield Savings Bank, I went about my routine of 15minutes on the exercise bike and making my bed it was hearing about the Maine Antique Digest from Jim Rawle did I checked things about. A year's subscription is $43 which I'll do tomorrow. This publication is exactly what I need! I need insights into what markets are doing in 2014. Fetched my mail and paid my Spectrum bill of $239.44 which I paid. Received my bill for my Box rent which will be paid tomorrow.  No word from Josh today. Tonight, the Red Sox are trailing Tamps Bay Rays 5-1. Lily P and Hannah are at the game. Yesterday's Clam Box blog has a high visit of 24! Tomorrow I'll stock up on food and replenish my bill cady. At night I'll go to the Legion. This Thursday of mine was complete!

THE CLAM BOX

Today was a slow Wednesday until I ate at the Clam Box! Lily Potvin was working so my menu changed at the suggestion of Josh. I enjoyed scallops and a diet Pepsi. Lily and Hanna will, be going to a Red Sox game tomorrow night so I presented Lily with some ideas and some "ready cash." As my meal was delivered, I made acquaintances with visiting dealers in fine antique jewelry. etc. Baltimore: Renata & Bill. Our conversation grew bringing them to my table. We shared ideas on many topics i.e. trust officers and the estate auction business. The friendly couple said "yes" to seeing my set-up at the Poodle. I feel I have made new friends! Red Sox are trailing 4-3 with Tampa Bay in the 6th inning.

PRODUCTIVE TUESDAY IN WEST BROOKFIELD

This Tuesday saw things unravel nicely. The brilliant sunshine proved to be too much for this blogger! Sitting out for just for 15 minutes I decided to call it quits as I was fearful of being burned. Things materialized with taking the Allante' out for a spin. Drove it to Birch Hill where Chase Robert was working on his studio in the barn. Presented Chase with a copy of my book on starting an antique business. Later son Josh to install my air conditioner and mow the lawn. Everything was complete as the Red Sox were leading Tampa Bay 2-1 in the fifth inning. I liked how my Tuesday turned out!

INCREDIBLE MONDAY

My Monday began with doing banking at NBSB West Brookfield. Somehow the balances in both accounts were a good surprise! I needed enough cash to pay for an Inspection sticker for the Honda ($35) where I had to make two trips and for food where I spent at Hannaford NB $90.87. Called Chase Robert to come over as I wanted to give him some "Mad Money" for his visit to the Brimfield Flea Market in the morning. Chase was helpful in unloading the bags of groceries. Tonight, I was inspired by his visit, so I called college friend and brother Bill Gross. He was the man who told me to be an antique dealer. Now I will impart his wisdom for Chase!  "What goes around comes around!" Yes, today was incredible!

MY CLOUDY MOTHERS' DAY IN THE BROOKFIELDS

This Mother's Day was routine. I went about my daily routine of shower, shave, and exercise on my bicycle. Earlier, my Big Breakfast set the tone before watching Joel Esteen. My lunch was brief - V-8 and Lobster Bisque then it was traveling to Ronnie & Christies to extend my Mother's Day wishes and watching the Boston Red Sox who defeated the Washington Nationals 3-2!  Chase Robert and Lily were working. Tonight, it was Joly Time   popcorn and a diet coke. Spoke with Ben in Belmont, NC extending   my wishes to Allison. To me my Mother's Day was perfect!

This Red Sox victory has meaning and purpose. The yellow jerseys came to life in the bottom of the eighth inning with Rafael Devers 2 run double over the Washington Nationals. Earlier in this pre-Mother's Day celebration I phoned sister Jan wishing her the best for her special day. We reminisced over out mother Rita and her many attributes of love and affection. LONG FRIDAY

It has been a long Friday. I was greeted by a bag of clean laundry Josh had left in the breezeway as I left to fetch my newspapers. Putting them away had priority in my dy. Next was the replenishing of 6 days of pills before lunch. Started searching for something to watch and it was on FYI Storage Wars! It has been some months since watching. Mary Pandian is a celebrity buyer and a sharp "Cookie." The Legion came after four when I called Josh who couldn't make it. My visit to the Legion saw visits from Jeff Nickerson and Mary Slater. I had a cheeseburger deluxe. Tonight, I did watch RFD TV & Jimmy Sturr Polkas then the gameshows. The Red Sox keep losing and are behind 4-1 as I write. Enough!

QUIET THURSDAY

This Thursday seemed quiet for me. The highlight came at the U.S. Post Office with the purchase of a spiffy sheet of "Railroad Stations of the United States." It is historic as well as being colorful. Check them out!  No Sox today so I watched the Trins defeat Seatle and the Houston Astros defeat the Yankees. It was the gameshows tonight. Did speak with Josh with my affirmation "Good things happen on Friday" so it will be. Friday will be busier than today. Will call sister Jan wishing her a Happy Mother's Day in advance. Will go to the Legion as planned.

DISAPPOINTING RED SOX IN ATLANTA

It's hard to cheer on the Sox when they gave up a pair of home runs in the first inning. Now they trail the Braves 4-0! Despite this I have had an excellent day doing housework in anticipation of Josh coming by to pick up 3 bags of trash and my "dirty laundry. ".. and he did. Our visit was excellent, and Josh obliged. Thunderstorms keep rumbling since 4:00 pm and we received 1.92 inches of rain. The forecast is for weather for days. I It will be early to bed for yours truly!

SLOPPY SOX DEFEAT

It was sloppy sox defeat in Atlanta. Despite the loss this Tuesday was full. The brilliant sunshine made the day alluring. My trip to Hannaford NB saw me spend much money on food and supplies. My frig was full for the time being. Sat out in the sun but wasn't comfortable. Reminded me of my days in Vietnam where I was tanned up in the final 90 days. Spoke with Josh briefly and alerted him of a bag of "dirty laundry" and 2 bags of trash. As far as the "sloppy Sox "defeat there were too many opportunities lost. We'll try it again tomorrow night in Atlanta.

INTERESTING MONDAY INDEED

This May Monday was interesting, indeed. After paying my national grid bill of $163.25 my task was inserting 56 National Park Commemorative Quarters in the Archival Quality book. This task was interesting because I learned much about the states designs, mottos and inherent beauty. The cost from Littleton Coin Company was about $20.00. Haven't decided what I'll do with this set?   Spoke with Josh before sitting in the fading sunshine for about half hour? Yes, my Monday was interesting!

COLD & RAINY SUNDAY IN THE BROOKFIELDS

This Sunday was cold 47 degrees & rainy! The best part of my day was the Boston Red Sox slamming the Twins 9-2! Devers was like old time slamming a home run. Kinley Jansen came in for the ninth inning in relief. Now the Sox have a day off before traveling to Atlanta to beat the Braves. Let's hope this victory today sets the tone for Tuesday' game?! Must fetch the mail tomorrow regardless. Happy Cinque de Mayo!

KENTUCKY DERBY WINNER MYSTIK DAN

This Kentucky Derby saw the closest winner in the Derby's history: It was Mystik Dan by a nose! I enjoyed watching much of the Derby "In living color1" As I am not a gambler, I didn't have any money to bet! Earlier it was the Red Sox losing to the Twins 3-1. It is terrible to witness such a tailspin so early in the season. I did see Josh & Chase Robert working on their 'Studio in the Barn." Tomorrow I will watch Joel Osteen at 10.00.

SOX WIN AGAIN!

My Wednesday was great! Josh drove e to the Worcester VA for a blood draw and a visit to Mental Health. I came across feeling good as May is Mental Health Awareness Month and the listing of tips has given me ideas to reflection on. One tip is drinking more water - 64 oz. of water each day. Josh surprised me in mowing the lawn of dandelions Say hello to May.! Earlier I did a Wikipedia listing on Richard Carpenter of the Carpenter's fame. Interesting. He lives today and is married with five children! As far as the Boston Red Sox go, the team won again 6-2. Tomorrow is a day game. My day is done!
