A COOL NIGHT PAID OFF

My    "windows open" paid off. The cool night provided me with a restful night's sleep. This Thursday was good. The big news is Son Ben is hunkering down for the hurricane in Belmont, NC. Our weather here was excellent. Got a call from a nurse who will be coming tomorrow to complete arranging my new pill cady. Also received a call from Dr. Sanjay's office for a Tuesday appointment follow-up. Watched the Red Sox defeat the Orioles. The Allante' started very hard as it hasn't started in almost two weeks. Bought $20 worth of gas.

MY FIRST DAY BACK

Today proved to be as normal as can be. Josh and Heidi called me early before the Visiting Nurse Lisa came to review all of my meds. It took over one hour. She will return on Friday. My pill cady has been replaced with a new one. Later I decided to drive to the bank to transfer some funds and get a tank full of gas. Everything went well. Later I decided to turn on the AC only to discover Josh had removed it for the winter along with the high-speed fan! I opened up several windows for circulation. Have you noticed the new paint job on the Blair  House? It thrills me to no end!

QUABAUG NURSING HOME

My stay at the Quabaug Nursing Home lasted two weeks. It was a complex bedridden stay with tests blood tests, blood pressure tests to physical therapy. I walked with a walker down the hallway to climbing five stairs. The food was best in the morning from French toast to crisp bacon.I enjoyed a glass of orange juice and milk. The nursing personnel was very accomodating in changing my sheets when I had an "accident." My pills were doled out somewhere around nine pm. I had visits from Chase, Heidi and Maddie, Sister Jan and Ray, Steve Magnante and calls from Bill( twice) and Donna.

A SATURDAY OF CLOTHING GIFTS

My dry cleaner gave me a variety of new clothing to include shirts, trousers amongst other goodies. I am grateful to receive them and will separate the old ones. Got my VA bill for $9.00. Nice. Had indigestion during the night.I had eaten at the Legion and this seemed to be the cause. Josh gave me a haircut. He and Chase went to Fenway for a concert by Hot Chillie Peppers? I enjoyed watching the Red Sox. Final score 17-4 Red Sox! Continue watching features on the new king and the former queen. Maybe tomorrow's New York Times will have more. Remember 9-11! A HISTORIC FRIDAY

This Friday started off with reading The New York Times and the USA TODAY. It really took me two hours to discern what I wanted to keep and what I wanted to dispose. The photography goes back to when the Queen was born. Both newspapers are impressive with full page photographs in color and black and white. After going to Spencer to the cleaners I returned to watch live broadcasts from London. I watched some of the religious and other ceremonies. King Charles 111 has a colorful image. There will be so much available in the weeks and months to come. Had lunch at home and supper at the Legion. Spoke with Josh who advised me I can get a hircut tomorrow morning at 9:00! ROBERT LOUIS POTVIN

A SLOW THURSDAY AT FIRST

Today began in a slow fashion.I read in-depth the coverage of the Obamas' paintings. Trump didn't afford the courtesy to the Obamas! Things picked up with the news about the Queen's death. It is such news around the globe. I watched the coverage with great interest. This is historically significant! Tomorrow'
s newspaper headlines will be vast. All magazines will be historic. Visited Josh early.Gave him some of the pictures of DC I printed. Evie was let off by school bus then Chase came in. The poor guy sprained his ankle. It's swollen and he packed ice on it.Later he opted for a nap so I left. I enjoyed a Lean Cuisine meal of Apple,Cranberry, & Chicken for supper. ROBERT LOUIS POTVIN

PONY CARS USPS

I ran out of stamps so I asked Debbie for special commoratives. Debbie handed me a beautiful sheet of Pony Cars. It has colorful images of a 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302, 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, 1969 AMC Javelin SST, 1970 Dodge Chargerr R/T, 1987 Mercury Cougar XR7 GT. This sheet of 20 is a collectible in it's own right.Plan on giving Steve Magnante a souvenir! The big news was the unveiling of the Barack Obama and Michelle Obama portraits at the White House. It was a first class peview. Both the President and Mrs Obama gave heartfelt speeches. I plan on peparing a presentation of 12 George Washington issues of 1932!I have good luck with giving such gifts to former Presidents.Went to Maddie's soccer game at Quaboag High. It was 2-0 when I left. ROBERT LOUIS POTVIN

FACEBOOK MESSENGER

Josh sent me 18 photos by Facebook messenger. With little trouble I now have photos of his vacation on my computer. I was able to print these on my printer. Now comes the question HOW CAN I TRANSFER THESE SO I CAN TRANSFER THESE SO I CAN ACCESS THE PHOTOS SO I CAN PRINT THEM ON MY BLOG? This Labor Day was rainy. The best part was Aaron Judge's 54th home run! Not so good for the Red Sox who lost to Tampa Bay. I organized more my front office. Looking good. Had another Lean Cuisine dinner for lunch. Looks like another rainy day for Tuesday. This will help us with greener grass and water supplies. ROBERT LOUIS POTVIN

FALL IS IN THE AIR

This Friday was perfect! It was 49 degrees at 8:00 AM. No clouds.. perfect! I took my time getting up as last night's rest wasn't like the one before. Spent part of my day was reviewing my memoirs in meteorology. I read my stories about Don Kent and about big snow storms. My anemometer was bought in December of 1957 for $50 and brought much happiness to my folks and me! I had to pick up Lily at Howard's and drive her to Quaboag for field hockey. Josh filled up the sewet holder slong with seeds. It has been several weeks since I fed the birds. While here Josh gave out a yell. He had met a mouse in the garage! LOL. Went to the American Legion Post for onion rings and ginger ale. Jeff Nickerson told me of a new pizza oven.Nextday and one half looks good. ROBERT LOUIS POTVIN
