• Whole grain toast with peanut butter
• Blueberries and cottage cheese
• Eggs and whole wheat toast

LUNCH:

• Tuna salad sandwich
• Rotisserie chicken - make salad-put on whole wheat bread
• Roasted TURKEY BREAST SANDWICH
• Fruit: 1 cup watermelon, blueberries or banana

EVENING MEAL:

• Birdseye Steam in Bag vegetables
• Hamburger with vegetables - get steam-in-bag
• Hummus with pita and Sautee onions, peppers or mushrooms
• Boneless chicken with vegetables, brown rice
• Use ground turkey to make chili or turkey meatloaf.

THE SPENCER FAIR, TODAY

With cooler temperatures and a sunny start, the 130th Annual Spencer Fair at the fairgrounds, Spencer, MA, got off to a good start.My mission was in earnest as I slowed things down and took time to smell the roses!

My $7.00 admission fee proved to be worthwhile in every respect. The rides didn't begin until noon so I walked over to the displays of chicks, bees and other good stuff. Next, I went to Old McDonalds farm where smaller animals were visible through their cages. My thoughts on this aspect of the Fair was to make sure EVIE attend the fair. Young children abound with parents and grandparents.

Next was an antique tractor display.Whatever floats your boat, I guess. Larger animals including a Clydesdale and dairy cows caught my attention. More education on animal husbandry.

Exhibits are everywhere with vendors hoping to capture your interests.

I chatted briefly with WARE 97.7 FM Deejay Tony Powers. Today the local radio station has a much farther reach.www.classichits977. I even requested Piano Man by Billy Joel!

My highlight was to witness the Giant Pumpkin weigh-in. This year's winner  at 675lbs is Wes Dwelly of Oakham. Wes is the all-time pumpkin champ..14 or 15 years winning.  Talked to David Matera, my friend and client from yesteryear. His nephew and other contestants weighed in at 559lb, and 433 lb. The lightest pumpkin weighs 315.

LUCY STONE FOUNDATION ON COY HILL WB

I took a ride to the location of Lucy Stone's birthplace today and met up with Kevin Quinn, a friend. Kevin gave me a Lucy Stone postage stamp and we spoke at length about everything from diabetes to coin collecting. What amazes me is what this 56 year old male has gone through with enduring the scourge of advanced diabetes. I told him of his great courage after he showed me evidence of his amazing surgeries! Also, Kevin thanked me for referring him to THE EDWARD M> KENNEDY dental clinic on Tacoma Street, Worcester. Those in need of dental work must connect with EMK!It's FREE!

Also, while up Coy Hill I began taking movies with my SmartPhone. This will be my next challenge to post things on Facebook... along with reminiscing about the Legacy of Lucy.  1818- 2018. Time to grow!

Earlier in the day I watched Wayne Dyer's videos on YouTube. He espoused silence  as part of our daily routine!

The Patriot's football nixes my game shows tonight. Have to log onto CHRONICLE!

Stocked up on Birdseye Steamfresh frozen veggies. This supply and variety is a solution to my objection to expensive vegetables.

FEAST OR FAMINE SOX

Tonight's game numbers dazzle me. They exploded with 11 runs.. many batters twice in one inning. This victory leaves the Lucky Sox in good grace at Friendly Fenway Park!

Poor David Price is injured.

All in all, the two Boston  victories seem to have changed the overall mood around.. me!

From Mount Washington to the Gateway Arch in Saint Louis my quest was satisfied. Never did I know so much was available FOR FREE! Traditions go a long way and the Spencer Fair is a wonderful way of relaxing in Spencer at the fairgrounds Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday!

The variety of offerings and prizes seems to bring out the best in everyone I think of the displays of the bounty - fruits and vegetables or the cages with chickens, etc. Children really like seeing the animals everywhere!

Contests such as the tractor pulls the giant pumpkin contest are worth observing.

I go back to about 1958 in attending the Spencer Fair as a high school student! I even shook the paw of a live buffalo!

Live entertainment will also attract a certain element of both old and young alike.  Country singer, Mark Wills sings on Labor Day 3:00 P.M. All of the food vendors will offer goodies such as the Bloomin Onion!

Admission is only $7.00 for Seniors age 62 and above.  General Admission $10.00  Ride Night  Thursday $20 unlimited rides.

A LUCKY SOX VICTORY

It was a Lucky Sox victory in Boston! Fire-baller Kembrel sent me to bed in a tie. Just now I have read how the Sox pulled a rabbit out of their caps in a throwing error! Enough said! Game-on, Boys of Summer!

In my latest go-round with YouTube I'm discovering the real YouTube! The voice search is awesome. Say "Cape Cod" and voila travelogues all about Cape towns and beaches. I am discovering ways of exploiting YouTube like I never knew before.

Take SAIGON. Twenty years ago I traveled to Ho Chi Minh City for 9 days. Tonight I am enjoying the sights and scenes. Saigon is beautiful in its narrated form historic and other wise.

Vietnam veterans should watch this presentation. As for Cape Cod I am getting closer and closer to my next trip to the Outer Cape.

MOON OVER HO CHI MINH CITY

MY DIGITAL REMOTE THERMOMETER READS 118 DEGREES IN THE SUN.

What did we do to deserve this? I was in Sturbridge at 1:00 PM and the heat from the Walmart parking lot was the hottest I can ever recall. Conditions seem to be terrible. But why?

Poor laborers. At Fort Knox in the summer of 1966 I recall the U.S. Army calling off training when it passed 100 degrees. I know the All-Star Game in St. Louis wad THAT hot!

My conditions at home are decent. My AC is set at 68 degrees and a tiny fan operates at close range.

I am learning more about my HP 8710 All-In-One printer. Very sophisticated. Must recruit some college looking to make a buck by teaching Old Bob the ropes.

Don't even mention my lower denture!

Ben and family said goodbye at noon flying from Logan to Baltimore to Charlotte. A good vacation it was for all.

Fenway Franks tonight both here in the Poodle and at Fenway. Maybe their one day rest will pay off. LOL.

BACK IN BUSINESS WITH MY PULSE 3 AND YOUTUBE

Thanks to my sons  I am back in business. Ben got Slacker radio blaring this morning with Neil Diamond. This is good as I have been without sounds for 90 days or more.

YouTube is giving me what I like. It is a history-type video on just about anything.

I think we need a variety of entertainment depending on the mood.

This noon Ben and I traveled to Charlton for a lunch. The Clam Box & Seafood high atop the famous hill is no comparison to Howard's or Jannines! I opted for a cheeseburger; Ben had a grilled cheese. My burger was good.

We then traveled to Sturbridge to Walmart where Ben bought a nice navy blue monogrammed gold shirt sporting the Flying Elvis  logo.

Problems in paradise with my new dentures. Canker sores. Painful as all get-out!

Did go food shopping to Hanniford Brothers in NB.Delicious Seafood Chowder, etc.

No baseball tonight..thank God. People are still optimistic .lol.

TAMPA BAY SWEEPS THE SOX

So what's the verdict? I don't like it. The Red Sox have transformed their winning ways to that of losers. The team hasn't been swept all season long! Tampa Bay is the winner. I bet the New York Yankees are paying attention to the Sox nosedive! HELP!

Momentum in winning or losing seems to be the truth of the matter! What is wrong? Hot and cold.. I'm impatient! It's more than "You win some.. you lose some!" Cold bats for sure. Get the hell out of Florida with a victory.. please!

JOHN MCCAIN rip.. I worked a day for McCain in his 1990 quest. I was a cheerleader with his brother Joe in New Hampshire. I also saw him at Fanuel Hall, Boston c. 2001. I think Trump was wrong in labeling a man who was a POW.

The birthday party at Birch Hill was wonderful seeing all of the kids interact.. old and young alike. EVIE was in charge as usual. Fun time.

For a mere $89.99 my son has successfully installed my new printer at a saving of $110.00! My old printer lasted 20,000 copies. As we know printer's expenses are in the ink. The new printer comes with sample cartridges and a full supply of HP 952 XL cost another $106.99.

What I like about HP is the reliability.  I should be all set for years!

THREE HEAVY-HITTERS OF FENWAY PARK

Mookie Betts salary is $10,500,000 - only! J.D. Martinez's 5 year contract is $110,000,000. David Price earns $30,000,000 a year. These numbers are incredible beyond all realization or belief.

I don't think Red Sox fans have a clue as to how much money is involved. Granted, Red Sox players deliver. 90 wins - 40 losses.

Baseball is a business and free agency changed the rules of the game forever. Ted Williams and YAZ seemingly played for peanuts. Not so today. Are the men worth it?  Clearly the fans think so.

Our National Pastime seems to be in flux. Crowds are down (except for Boston.)

Price is 6'5" and Martinez is 6'3".. Mookie Betts, by comparison, is a shrimp at 5'9".

The season is winding down with thirty or so games remaining. Place your bets on Betts! I think he's amazing.. has personality.. and is a giant in his own right!

52 DEGREES AT 4:30 AM!

I went from the "summer of air-conditioning" to turning on the heat! Late August weather is true to form and hopefully the only hot spots on the map are our beloved Red Sox.

It's Friday and good things will happen. Haven't seen SonBen since last December! Big Birthday parties this weekend for SonJosh (44) and Evie age 5. A cookout is planned on Birch Hill. Josh has all of the grounds mowed like Fenway Park.

To Hannaford for some grub. I feel my diet is changing in a concerted effort to loser my blood sugar.

U.S. MILITARRY CONVOY RAILS THROUGH WARREN

It was a surreal experience as I washed down my black Honda. I heard the diesels roaring when an amazing thing occurred: a 77 convoy of tanks, guns, jeeps and Humvees roared through the town. This experience reveals the might of America. It brought back memories of Vietnam and when I saw the barrels of the tanks I realized what the world is really about: WAR!

A young man and his mom were captivated by the occurrence. The chief engineer waved as the train clipped along. I am told the destination was "Maine."

Very interesting!

DAVID PRICE - OUTSTANDING, AGAIN!

It was a hitter's paradise; it was a pitcher's paradise.. Fenway Park at its finest. This victories today and yesterday  heal the 4 losses of  recent times. I get nervous when the Sox don't hit and win. Their 90th victory seems assured as they wrap up the 9th inning of Cleveland!5 hits all day!

Tomorrow to Tampa Bay for 3 games.
